Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I’ve been going to Solebury Orchards for apple picking three years in a row, and it’s always such a fun experience! They have a great selection of apples—you can pick your own or buy them fresh from the shop. Their apple cider donuts are absolutely delicious and a must-try. 🍩🍎 They also offer tractor rides for apple picking, which makes it even more enjoyable, especially for families. Throughout the seasons, they have other fruits and goodies you can pick, so it’s worth checking their website before you visit. The employees are friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. Just a heads-up: preregistration with a fee is required on weekends. I only wish the cost of the pass could be applied toward your purchase at checkout. Overall, it’s a wonderful orchard and definitely worth visiting!”

“🫐My First Visit to This Farm This was my first time visiting this farm. I found it through Google Maps and decided to come and pick my own berries. Since it’s the season for blueberries and cherries, we got lucky and picked some fresh blueberries! 🚗We drove over an hour to get here, and it was absolutely worth the trip. 📍The place is beautiful, clean, well-managed, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were kind and welcoming. 🛒There’s also a little shop where you can find the freshest seasonal fruits and vegetables, plus some cute gift items. Can’t wait for blackberry season. Definitely will be back!”

“My apple farm visit was an absolute delight! I was thrilled to see the fallen apples under the trees and made sure to pick them up, valuing every bite. I collected a variety of apples, including Pinata, Topaz, Winecrisp, Florina, and Crimson Crisp, and enjoyed every last bite. The self-picking experience was fantastic, and I tried my best to follow the guidelines. The donuts and apple cider were a bonus – and at great prices! The wagon ride was the cherry on top – what a fun day!”

“Very neat place to spend the day or have an outing. The orchard itself is setup very nice. There’s a variety of about 10 different species of apples. Each variety has several groves to stroll and pick from. If you don’t want to actually pick yourself you can drive up to the market and just buy a selection of fresh fruits, spreads ciders and jams and especially their baked fresh cider doughnuts which are a must and super delicious. Prices are great and the service is wonderful.”

“Best option for cut flowers around. A quarter of an acre of dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers and a host of supporting stems are available for cut your own. You start off with a mason jar and a pair of snippers and have at it. High quality blooms that last for weeks. I also go here for the cider donuts May daily, fresh fruits and vegetables but it's the cut flowers that drive me here each time. Doesn't usually start until after July 4th but the blooms last well into September.”

“This place is so cute. Great place to pick apples with a not too long and not too short wagon ride to the Apple orchard. 🍎🍏There is a nice wagon for the kids to play on while waiting for the wagon ride. There’s an adorable flower garden where you can pick your own flowers 💐 🌺 🌹 🌸🌼🪻🌷 and the farm market is super cute. They take Apple Pay. They recommend reserving your spot to pick apples beforehand. Definitely worth the drive!”

“Too excited — first time apple picking! 🌧🍎 We thought the rain might spoil it, but it actually made the day even more fun and refreshing. The tractor ride, the pumpkins, and the varieties of apples — everything was awesome! Sticking to just a few apples per variety was impossible… ended up picking more than we needed, but totally worth it!”

“Josh, Eric, and the rest of the staff made our experience highly memorable! This orchard is the perfect middle between organized and homey. Great tasting apples and snacks. Well kept grounds. Not to many people even though we went at sunset on a Sunday. Fairly priced. Will be back for sure!”
