What visitors say

“First of all... this place is open "All Year Round." Important to note, sour dough is only delivered on Saturdays and Tuesdays and it sells out by the following day. It's NOT a big store, but it has just about everything basic you'd want to eat from baked goods to rolls of Amish Butter, teas, condiments, vegetables, honey, salad, herbs, and of course.... WINCHESTER APPLES. The staff is very friendly. Slow down and be careful pulling into the small parking lot -- that's my only warning. Don't forget to get a punch card if you're going to be a regular and go there often. Fill the card to get "half a peck." "What is half a peck?" I asked on my first visit..... the guy said, "About 18 dollars." Me: "No I mean what is a peck?" Guy: "Oh! It's a half-a-crate of whatever you want in season: peaches, apples....etc." Me: "Okay, cool." So happy that we live in Winchester and just 10 minutes from this sweet place.”

“Very nicely organized market that has veggies, apples, frozen meat, ice cream, milk, peanuts, kettle corn, baked goods, etc... the young lady at the register was very nice. I asked if I could use the bag I bought as a shopping basket, and she was OK with that. I picked out some baked food, veggies, cashew, apples, granola and white sweet potato 😋. I didn't get toosnu items but they added up so fast!! $57. At least I'm supporting a small business 🥰. I would stop here again when im.in the area.”

“If you are near this place, not stopping to check it out would be missing out on a true jem. This is a great place to get vegetables, fruits, coffee beans, breads, snacks and more! Great prices and even better the very friendly staff was worth the stop! We had a great time and felt more than welcome. Thank you and keep up the great work!”

“Great stop for fresh veggies and some baked goods... not to mention the milk and cottage cheese are wonderful. If you're tired of grocery store salad starting to rot as soon as you get home, try the salad mixes here. They are fresh and last far far longer in the fridge.”

“My first trip here was great. They are now in my local food shopping rotation.”

“Nice small shop. Fresh veggies and fruits. Some baked foods good some nothing much to write home. Very nice people.”

“Nice. Organized. Doesn’t seem so big. Recycle milk bottles. Fancy pickles.”

“Been to this market many times over the past several years whenever we visit Winchester. They always have a great selection of apples and veggies, especially in fall. They are pricey though compared to some other markets. We've aways bought some of their baked goods as well, but this last visit proved to be a huge disappoinment. On a previous visit we bought a peach pie which was delicious so when we had a chance to buy another one this trip we did. The pies are very large and this one cost $15.50. When we got it home and cut a piece there were small black bits of something in it. We cut through more of the pie and there were numerous black dots and larger pieces of whatever this black stuff was all throughout. Also, there were several whitish gelatinous clumps, most likely cornstarch which wasn't mixed properly. Into the trash went the pie. This shop was always a must stop for us in past trips but it won't be anymore. We got some apples and a few other items which were ok. Three hrs away so we couldn't return the pie. Very disappointed in light of cost vs quality. 2 stars is being kind because we always liked this place in the past.”
