Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Oregon.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“UPDATE 9/2/25: Still the best around! If you get a chance, go out and get some of the green/white grapes! They are the best around. They are the same variety my grandparents grew back in the 70s. I wait all year for Starr Farm grapes to be ready. Today I got 2 gallons of grapes, beets, Tomatoes, and Japanese squash. The Kabocha squash is my favorite squash. Throw it in the oven, cut it like a pie and it's ready to eat:) I attached just a sample of what I got today. Fried green tomatoes are yummy, but I also got some ripe ones:) Still the nicest people and family you could meet❤️ ‐‐------------------------------- My favorite farm to visit. Produce is affordable and good, but the best part is visiting with Charles Starr himself. He is one of the most genuinely kind, friendliest men I've had the pleasure to meet. I go with the hopes he has a minute to chat as I go to pick my items. Best Blueberries there as well!”

“We had such a great experience at Starr! A friendly man and fruits with good price. Have to highlight the apples are incredibly juicy and sweet! Got some persimmons and cabbages too. Planning to come back again for sure. Update: Coming here every year has become one of our rituals since 2021! The farm has rotated a wide variety of options over the months it’s open. They update the info on Facebook. We got some kales, beets, cucumbers, and blueberries today which are all so yummy and can’t wait to come back again”

“First time visiting this place. Very happy with Blueberry u-pick and other veggies. Very friendly; allowed me to pickup some amaranth vegetables, jucini leaves for free. Great price cheap compare to other firms. Will recommend every Oregonian to visit this place”

“Just came back labor day weekend and there are still plenty of blueberries. Not like there was a month ago but still plenty to be had. Sad I just discovered this farm this season but I will be back every year now. Berries are super delicious!”

“Discovered this place three summers ago and have been coming back every summer since for our blueberries. The blueberries are juicy and sweet, and we love the abundance of them and how quickly you can fill up a gallon bucket!”

“BERRY friendly owners! We’ve been coming to their U-pick every summer for the last 15 years. Thank you for the little freebie, can’t wait to make my quesadillas de flor de calabaza ❤️”
