Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Alabama.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“One of the hidden gems in Cullman and only 10 minutes off the interstate. $10 for 1/4 pecks and tons of deals on seconds. If you can get there in September that have some of my favorite apples called Mutsu. But definitely check in all during the late summer and early fall for a good pick of all the different varieties they have. They also have group tours for families and schools that were so much fun especially for my elementary students. Oh and I almost forgot the frozen and fresh cider and the best fried pies!”

“I absolutely love the staff, they make you feel so welcomed. Everything I tried was delicious, the apple muffins were amazing. Definitely worth a stop. Plus there is the sweetest dog named “Little Bit” and she is a great welcoming committee.”

“May not be the best year for apples with dry summer. We bought half a bushel of gala anpples to split with a friend and when we got home, the majority of them had cracked up. They were soft and dry and tasteless. Other small bag apples were good. However, I did make apple sauce with these apples and it turned out great. So even they are not edible as a fresh apple, they are good for making apple sauce. I did not add anything to it but was sweet and delicious.”

“We did the tour. We had lots of fun. You could tell things were becoming run down just a touch because they said they could not find help. They were down from four employees to one and couldn't seem to find anyone to hire. Really nice people and the tour was so fun. We've enjoyed eating our apples. Took some home. Great prices.”
