Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Kentucky.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We took our kids to pick strawberries at Stepping Stone Farm and had the best time! They were so helpful and Ally was such a delight. We also have a small business that sells freeze dried products and we're selected to be apart of the Kentucky Strawberry Festival event held here. It was amazing the amount of work and dedication the whole team put forth to make this event come to life. It brought over 5000 people in just one day and they didn't miss a beat! Highly recommend this farm for visiting and if you can catch their events, you'll be amazed at all they have to offer. We have only had their strawberries but they were huge, juicy, and the very best strawberries we have ever had. Five stars to Stepping Stone Farm and Ally and the crew!”

“I absolutely love this venue! When my husband and I got married, we were so afraid of cost because wedding's are expensive!!! Thankfully, Ally was amazing and worked with us on everything from paying, to vendors, to even using some of Stepping Stones awesome apple cider at the wedding. It's an amazing experience to have such awesome people to help facilitate everything. From all other places that I have visited, Stepping Stone is probably the best to choose from if you're interested in an outdoor wedding in central KY!”

“This place is sensational. The owners grow three sections of sunflowers and kindly invite the communities around Cynthiana and Paris and Lexington to come out when they are in bloom and take photos. And at no cost. The popularity of their farm continues to grow. It’s a great place to see a farm in action (they were also harvesting tobacco while I was there.Great people, great farm and a great place for photography of all kinds.”

“Strawberries were great. I was very impressed that they were checking the berries before selling them for freshness. Highly recommend but a suggestion, buy an extra quart to eat on the way home.🤣🤣 You'll thank me for that piece of advice.”

“Jam was made, midnight strawbaritas were drank, and a time was had. Will definitely be back for other seasonal picking! Thanks Stepping Stone. The rain didn't keep me down.”

“Me and my family loved going out in the field. And picking our own stuff, it was fun. We had a great time. I recommend this place. Petting zoo was very fun.”

“So cute, fairly priced. Easy to get in and out from 27. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. Definitely coming back. Oh and the strawberries were PHENOMENAL”

“I love visiting Stepping Stone Farms! The fresh fruits are yummy as well as the meats and candy! The cinnamon rolls are the best I have ever had!”
