Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Tennessee.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Sunset Valley Farms has a piece of our families heart! They have grown and still constantly expanding giving our community and county something really special to be able to do with all of our family and friends. This year they started with Easter Egg Hunts, photo Ops, concessions"THAT I MAY ADD ARE YUMMY", slides, swings, basketball shoots, seesaws, cornhole, much more. Next has been Sunflower Sundays and we have been every Sunday this year so far! A few have been really warm but there was plenty of places for shade including a huge barn with fans placed in them over a few tables, I cut a beautiful boutique with my Granddaughter and brought it home to place on our farm table, enjoyed lunch every Sunday with my girls, listened to some really good bands each Sunday, got to feed the goats, the kids played. The staff they came around and snapped some pictures. Farmer Brian even walked around and handed out goat feed for the kids to go feed the goats. I also watched Farmer Brian explain in detail some information about their Sunflowers to a couple that wasn't familiar with the many varieties of them. They have added some more items to their concessions which again "YUMMY". Let me elaborate on yummy!!!! My favorites are the now new Sunrise Lemonade, new caramel apple donuts, and the Mexican Street Corn- they will serve with BBQ or without and I mix it up sometimes I get with and without but either way is YUMMY!!! Corn raised right on the Sunset Valley Farm. Next will be the Fall Festival, this year I'm sure they will have some new things as they have been expanding. But last year pumpkin patch, Corn maze, fire pits, and all of the above we had a blast!!! Next for their first time last year Drive thru Christmas lights!!! Great for our little community!!! They also do events at the Farm. My daughter scheduled my Granddaughters birthday party there and we had plenty of room for everyone and was able to enjoy the whole farm. Now I'd like to say a bit about the owners!!! Farmer Brian and Melissa are absolutely amazing and have definitely put into deep consideration what families would be looking for to enjoy time out with each other and have put their heart and soul into this place! You can see it in many ways with the details as you enjoy the Farm. Their daughter Ella is a sweetheart and helps take care of everyone, their son JR always has a smile when greeting and works hard with the family, and the rest of their staff have always been very friendly and all smiles. If you are in the area or live nearby don't miss out having some fun with family and friends. Or it's even nice if you want some alone time to hang out in areas of the farm.”

“An absolute must go to family place. My 4 kids ranging from 7 to 11 had a blast. We bought a giant pumpkin, the size of my 7 year old, for $20. Awesome corn maze with activity sheet. Concessions, Tractor train with tour, fire pit with seating. So many fun things to do. Including a Mega Slide, pedal cars, a playground. Sunflower patches, zinnia patches and pumpkin patches of all sizes.”

“If you like hanging out in open "farmland ", and baking under the sun while being bitten by sweat bees, then this is the place for you! It might be a fun place to take kids during the fall, but during the summer, definitely not. They have minimal shading for you to sit in, a 20X20 awning is all they offer. And they offer zero water facilities, no water fountain or anything. If you want water, you have to purchase it from the concession stands. If you want to speak to a staff member, don't waste your time looking around the grounds, just go to the only air conditioning spot on the place, which is the concession stands. That's where they all hang out. Also it is not an indoor concession stands for customers, you have to wait outside. Majority of stuff they offer here for kids to do, are literally free things you can experience at your local park. Swing sets, slides, seesaws, are the predominant features. They do have a few cornhole stands, and some literal saw horses that kids can throw hula hoops around. The only other feature is the sunflower beds, that you can walk through and cut a sunflower off of. They also had a small goat pen, with a few Nigerian dwarfs. You cannot go into the goat pan, you can only look at them from a distance, as the goats are smart and stay in the shade of their shelter. But, if you're really really bored, and want to drive out of your way, and spend money to get sunburned and swarmed en mass by sweat bees, you should definitely go here!”
