Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“It's beautiful agri tourism in USA. We went here for aaple plucking enjoyed every bit of it. However this place is offering much more than apple plucking. It's has giant maze field with Puzzle and you have to walk for @3.5 miles to complete it nice experience. Shorter version of less than one mile is also available. Pumpkin farm, tractor ride various beautiful photopoints. Gaint swing and chair is also atrration for all ages people. Have nice restaurant suitable for farm theam. Enjoy feeding to gaots and sheeps. Have nice shopping for Halloween. Big farm produce and it's variety of items alongwith fresh bakery items are available in shop. You can spend almost a day with friends and families at this place. Enjoyed lot. Big parking facilities are available.”

“So fun! My daughters had an incredible time here! They were even were allowed to help release butterflies. (It was a special day). The unicorns are talked about for months ahead of time and afterwards in our house. Additionally the food was excellent. I loved my turkey BLT and the mac and cheese. The farm shop was well-stocked and had a huge variety. I adore the marketplace too. The staff today were very attentive and kind. We even got a golf cart ride back to our car. They also have a converted RV for nursing moms. Tip: follow Tanners on facebook in case they close the back 40 due to inclement weather including heat. I’ve been to many apple orchards and this is definitely my favorite by far. We will be back!”

“We love Tanners! We have made a tradition to go every year and it has never disappointed. Our favorites are the U pick, back 40 fun acres, and of course the store where we never leave without our apple donuts, Carmel apples, and a sweet treat for our pups. A special feature to the unicorns and Princess in the back 40 acres! There are so many adorable photo spots as well. Each year we find a little more to love here. 🥰🍎”

“Tanners is such a great place to go for treats, corn maze, petting goats, the big playground, and of course picking apples and pumpkins. I go every year with family and friends as a fall tradition. I can't leave without a jar of corn salsa, pickled baby beet balls, and apple sauce. Don't leave without trying some cider and doughnuts! It can be a little pricey, but it's always a great experience!”

“Had a BLAST!!! Very kid friendly place. Lots of walking so wear good shoes 😊 We did the corn maze, fed the animals, played on all the equipment, and panned rocks. So much to do. Plus the little market they have inside is amazing and full of yummy goodys”

“Fun place to spend the afternoon with a toddler! There were lots of fun places for him to play and climb. He especially liked the hay maze. It was only $5 on a weekday for him and no cost for the tag a long adults. We lucked out with perfect weather!”

“It's a fun experience. Plenty to do with friends and kids. They have a very cute highland cow calf. So cute and friendly. The market has plenty to buy from apple cider to their fantastic apple cider donuts. I highly recommend coming here.”

“Went here with my daughter and the grandkids for my daughter's birthday. We went through the corn field maze, did some shopping, and enjoyed the nice (but very windy day).”
