Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Colorado.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of Longmont’s sweetest hidden gems 🐝🌻 Bee Hugger Farm is the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and smile. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the sounds of happy animals, buzzing bees, and the feeling that you’ve stumbled onto something really special. There are goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and other friendly farm animals to visit. It’s wholesome, peaceful, and such a fun experience for kids and adults. Their honey is incredible, you can truly taste the difference when it’s local and thoughtfully made. They also sell beeswax candles, skincare, and other locally crafted items that make perfect gifts (or treats for yourself). Everything feels intentional, sustainable, and rooted in real care for the land and the animals. As a Northern Colorado real estate agent, I spend a lot of time showing people why this area feels different and places like Bee Hugger Farm are exactly that reason. It’s not just about where you live, it’s about the kind of community you get to be part of… and this is one of those places that makes Longmont feel like home. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful outing, something educational for kids, or just want to support a wonderful local farm, this place is absolutely worth a visit. 🐝🌿💛”

“This place is so fun! I went with my 2-year-old on a late Sunday morning in October and there was so much to do—unicorn rides, feeding animals, tractor ride, pumpkins to buy, lots of cute places to take pictures, and things for kids to play with! It’s free to go and you can walk around, play with the toys, and pet the animals without paying anything and it’s fun just to hang out, but we did end up buying a unicorn ride, tractor ride, 2 pumpkins to carve for Halloween, and carrots to feed the animals! All the people there were nice and the animals were angels! You can easily pet the goats, sheep, donkey, and horses. There are also ducks, geese, and chickens but they don’t come up to you and you can just see them from afar. We got to see a beautiful white peacock! I was surprised that my shy 2-year-old was brave enough to ride the “unicorn” (pony) but he was and he loved petting her! The perfect place to go for a fun fall day. We live in Boulder and it was a little over a 30 minute drive, but at least it’s a pretty drive!”

“Bee Hugger Farm is such a hidden gem! It’s completely free to visit, but they do have a donation box to help support all the love and care that goes into the place (and it’s well worth contributing to!)🌻 There’s a huge field of sunflowers that’s absolutely stunning, perfect for photos (professional photos need to make an appointment) or just soaking in the view. My kids loved all the different animals - goats, donkeys, and even the chickens wandering around! There are also old trucks and tractors your little ones can climb on and “drive,” which makes it such a fun, interactive experience. Honestly, this place is the whole package for a family outing - educational, relaxing, and just full of good vibes. As a local real estate agent in Northern Colorado, I love exploring spots like this that really capture the community’s charm. Bee Hugger Farm is the kind of place that makes you appreciate living here even more! 🐝🌻”

“A very cute farm! A good selection of bee goods like wax, honey, honey comb, and pollen! They only accept cash and venmo so be prepared for that! We also got to feed the animals, spending $1 for a slice of pumpkin. Overall a wonderful experience! We'll definitely come back!”
