Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Minnesota.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Blackshire Farms, located just off I-90 near Beaver Creek, is a beautiful example of what hard work and dedication can do for an end product. The owners go to great lengths to provide the best produce and experience to their patrons through education and variety. The annual pumpkin patch is the best around with many types, colors and shapes of gourds and squash. The raspberry patches at Blackshire are bountiful and the berries are delicious. They also offer honey from the hives on site in several sizes that are priced right. If you are looking for a unique experience and the best farm grown products around the Beaver Creek area, check out Blackshire Farms. The owners are very knowledgeable, friendly and will answer any questions that you might have.”
