“This was the best apple picking farm we've ever been to!! We live in IL, and the orchards we've visited in Illinois have NOTHING on Shafer Farm! First of all the staff at the entrance/exit was awesome! She was very pleasant and answered all our dumb questions with a smile. She gave us a list of which apples were ready and told us to sample as many varieties as we'd like. We had a blast going from row to row of apple trees, trying out all the different kinds. The trees themselves were BRIMMING with beautiful apples. We ended up with 2 1/2 bushels of several different kinds, and we cannot wait to go back next year at peach and pear harvesting time!!”

“Absolutely love! Good prices, nice selections/choices, and delicious fruits. Came to pick apples, grapes, and peaches last week. The peaches were outstanding (coming from a peach hater-), can’t wait for apple season! I’m sure those will be amazing like last time. Was like $14 for almost probably 10 pounds worth of peaches. Really fun to have family time here.”

“Abundant 🍎 and 🍇 even in late October. Picked at least a dozen varieties today. Sprawling orchard, nestled and quiet and perfectly picturesque. Away from the hoi-poloi from the shore. Friendly and easygoing owners and happy workers, no hassles, simple setup. Cider donuts, honey and squashes galore. This orchard means a lot to our family ❤️”
