Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I have been going to this place since 2013. I found them online and absolutely love blueberries and the fact I get to pick my own. It's a family run business. I got to go back last week and I was so impressed with how much it changed. There were WAY more people that I've ever seen there. They built better systems and had alot more people helping them. Even with all the people, there were still plenty of blueberries to go around and we were able to be far away from people (because of covid). Did I forget to mention their homemade blueberry ice cream?!?! They are 40 mins from where I live and yet it was worth the drive.”

“TLC blueberry farm is a great place to self pick blueberries. They have a large filled with many bushes. My wife and I went there a week ago and my wife spent 30 minutes picking one bush and came away with 6 lbs of berries from it! It is a great place to bring your family and have a nice outing. Parking is plentiful but I recommend getting there early because both the parking area and the fields fill up the later it gets into the morning. The homemade blueberry ice cream is delicious and there are picnic style benches set out where you can enjoy it before or after you're picking experience.”

“What a great morning! We had our church life group family social at TLC Blueberry Farm. We spent some time in the sun picking fresh blueberries. Then we cooled off by gathering under the large oak tree with our picnic lunches, followed by some ice cream. Priceless time spend with friends. Reminded me of days long ago spent at my grandparent's home with extended family. Thank you for sharing your farm with us.”

“We had a wonderful time at this blueberry farm! Picking blueberries was especially fun, and there were plenty of ripe, juicy, and delicious berries to choose from. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A great place for families and anyone who loves fresh blueberries. We’ll definitely be back soon!”

“There is nothing better than to pick your own fruit early on a Saturday morning at a local farm. $11.36 for nearly 3 pounds of fresh blueberries. Very well thought out and attended. Friendly, kind, and personable workers. Get there early!! By 9am it was really picking up.”

“Our second visit to TLC. Good sized farm of blueberry bushes. Lots and lots of yummy ripe berries for picking. Homemade blueberry ice cream is delicious! Owners of farm are super nice people. My little ones love seeing the hens and rooster.”

“I don't know who's sweeter, the berries or the people! Such a nice family and the best U-pick blueberries near Charlotte. We have wonderful memories to take with us every year.”

“It was too hot to pick blueberries outdoors… the farm is actually small and most bushes have most of its fruits picked already. Pretty OK price for the fresh blueberries I picked tho.”
