Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maryland.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“All I can say is wow wow wow! My family went today to go get our Christmas tree and we were greeted with the biggest smile and all the information we needed to know to make the most out of our experience at the farm. We got to visit Santa (which my daughter said was the nicest Santa ever) and we were able to cut down the perfect tree. On top of that, when we finished selecting our tree, a group of young men came right away to help us get our tree ready to go home. Furthermore, we visited the shop and picked up garlic dill pickles, a turkey for Thanksgiving, and fresh salsa. Cracked open the salsa and dill pickles already and they were to die for!! Anyways, highly recommend this farm for your Christmas tree, great experience and farm to table needs. ❤️”

“We had such a great visit here to get a Christmas tree. They are open the weekend before thanksgiving, and we had such an amazing selection of you cut trees as well as lots of pre cut. The trees are simply priced, one price up to 7-8ft so a little more if you want a smaller tree, but overall totally fine. They had a cute little shop where we got some fresh eggs and meat at a fair price. Highly recommend and we will be back next year!”

“We enjoy coming to TLV farm every fall. With one entry fee, we can enjoy a variety of games, seeing the animals, hayride and corn maze. It's a beautiful farm, and there are always great pumpkins and squash to purchase as well.”

“Small beautiful farm with lovely staff. We came here last fall for pumpkin picking. It was a good experience.”

“This was our first time visiting and we enjoyed our experience at TLV Tree Farm less than other experiences we have had at others tree farms in the region. There was little guidance and signage as to which tree species were located where - just a man with a large, painted map up on a board at the front entrance. When out in the field there was no signage at all, and the trek to find the trees we were looking for felt long in the bitter cold. The trees themselves did not seem well proportioned, and choosing felt difficult. Though the experience with Santa Claus was free it felt lacking in Christmas magic. Having him in a dark, damp, cold barn felt ... a bit on the creepy side. More lighting, warmth, and a Santa that wasn't coughing may have felt more welcoming. Overall we felt there was room for improvement in the experience. We did purchase a Douglas Fir and hot chocolates.”
