Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Vermont.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“Had a wonderful time at Valley Dream Farm’s farm-to-table dining experience! We began our evening cutting flowers to make the bouquets for our table and getting a hayride tour of the fields. The location is just stunning with breathtaking views of Mount Mansfield, and the dinner was delicious and included multiple courses of farm-fresh food. This is the kind of experience that makes Vermont such a wonderful, magical place. Many thanks to farmers like those running Valley Dream for not only feeding us but for being such dedicated caretakers of our land & environment.”

“This was such a great experience for the whole family. The food was great, but the experience was amazing. We met the nicest family that we sat next to during the meal. Also, I am a vegetarian and they were kind enough to make a tofu curry dish for me in substitute of the meat. There were also plenty of side vegetables throughout the meal to fill me. I only wish I would have brought a bottle of wine to enjoy with the meal.”

“What a wonderful farm and family. Joe, Annie, Jay and Caroline showed us a wonderful time touring the farm. And had a great dinner, I’d love to know the maple chicken recipe. The chef made a wonderful meal. And it was great to meet others at the dinner.I love supporting a local farm. I highly recommend adding this to your visit of Vermont.”

“We went for the family style farm-to-table dining experience and it was amazing! Not only was the food delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and everyone made us feel right at home. We even got to tour the farm with the staff! Cannot recommend enough.”

“A wonderful farm and family! I buy my hanging flower baskets, hay, coffee and produce from Valley Dream Farm. I've also attended several of the farm to table dinners which are absolutely delicious. Can't recommend this place enough!”

“Valley Dream Farm is a spectacular place. Their flowers and seedlings are beautiful, the people are kind (and excellent cooks!), and the scenery is like none other. It is always such a wonderful experience.”

“They got fresh produce and flowers and coffee and farm to table dinner! Love the farm and the family”

“Farm to Table dinner and tour on Tuesday was awesome! Come to dinner and get treated like family! Started with a tractor ride around the farm and a tour of the green house. Next you cross the street and clip some flowers for the table. Return to the farm for appetizers then sit down for dinner. Ann and son hosted a 7 course dinner. Farmer Joe joined us after a full day working late but took some time to chat with everyone. The food was amazing. Everything was full of flavor! My favorite dishes: tomato caprese salad, grilled vegetables, and mustard chicken. Recommend at least visiting at least once this summer! Better than spending it at a restaurant! Bring your own bottle if you like wine or spirits with your meal.”
