Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

52 reviews on file · showing 8 visitor notes from the listing data.

“This working apple orchard had a bit of a tricky road to get up to it, but once you followed the signs with the picture of the apple and the arrow you ended up at an open-air spot where the proprietor was sitting and wood slice off a bit of every kind of apple she had and let you taste a number of the varieties and then mix and match any amount for the same price per pound. If you ask me "how do you like them apples" I will say "I like them very much thank you."”

“Owned by the Walker family for more than 125 years, this farm, out on a long single-lane road, is one of the best experiences of visiting Sonoma County. They offer eight or more different varieties of apples at incredible prices they're and they're happy to give you samples from each Apple variety - check their website for open days. Lovely place. Lovely people.”

“Lovely apple farm with a wide variety of apple types (they don’t have pick-your-own). My favorites were the Golden Delicious and the Red Delicious (I found both to be delicious). This place is at the end of a long single lane dirt road, so be prepared to stop for opposing traffic.”

“It was a really rustic place. It looked like those pictures from those California Museums about California history and it's orchards. The people there made conversation with you and you felt like you were their customer for decades. The apples were amazing too. Amazing!!”

“Absolutely friendly people offering cheap and high quality apples! They have 20+ varieties of apples. They offered to let me try every type of apples available! Support local produce :)”

“The BEST deal on the most gorgeous apples. Beautiful Gravensteins right now for only $1/lb., $20/20 lbs, or $35/40 lbs. Lovely (and dusty) drive up to the "Top of the Hill".”

“Wonderful folks keeping a 100+ year old Family business going. Great apples. If you are in the area, definitely drop by Walker Ranch and grab a box or two.”

“Amazing varieties and flavor. My kids love running around. They have refused typical big store bought apples because they don’t have the same flavor.”
