“I visited Wheeler Farm on a Sunday afternoon in February 2026. The snowy mountains made a very picturesque backdrop on a warm winter day. The barn looked great for an old structure, but I learned it was a replica of the 1898 barn built in 1990 after a fire destroyed the original. Neil Astle designed this one to perfectly match the 1898 farm barn. The building was marked as closed after a boutique earlier in the day, but the grounds were open. Quite a few people enjoyed walking the trails and taking in the scenery. A line of wooden carvings, including an owl and a horse, were fun to look at. The grounds were very well organized, clean, and free of debris. All wires were tucked in tight, making it safe for kids. The winter foliage and greenery were dormant, but the layout was well kept and clearly would look beautiful in the spring and summer bloom. Plaques detailed the local organisms, birds, and plants, while signs identified the structures. Rusty farm equipment sat around the property, and everything was well maintained to ensure it was safe to be around. Signs noted that wagon rides leave on the hour and half hour, with tokens purchased at the activity barn, though they were not running on Sunday. The animals on site included turkeys, horses, cows, peacocks, and ducks in the stream and pond. Benches dotted the nice, wide trails. The grounds were big with a lot of walking area to cover, and I did not see the whole property despite walking for 45 minutes. A few large areas of grass would be great for a picnic. I highly recommend this outdoor area for families or individuals as a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

“We had our wedding at the Activity Barn at Wheeler Farm last May and had an incredible experience! The staff was friendly, organized, and so helpful throughout the entire process. The price was very reasonable, especially considering what was included: chairs, tables, a sound system, and separate getting-ready rooms for the bride and groom. We had about 100 guests, and the space felt perfect. There was plenty of parking, which made things easy for everyone. We were able to bring in our own lights, curtains, decorations, and food, so it was easy to personalize everything. The side lawn was perfect for yard games and gave guests lots of space to relax and mingle. Overall, it was a beautiful, flexible venue and a wonderful place to host a wedding or any special event. Sharing this for any other brides looking for information about this venue as a wedding option — highly recommend!”

“Wonderful place to walk around, play, tour, sit and relax. Tons of mature trees, and some trunk stumps left behind got to become art. Cool buildings, plenty of restrooms near playground, near blacksmith, at the big barn. We enjoyed seeing the animals do their thing. Smells like a farm, lots of area to the east for roaming. Dogs allowed on leash. Fun play area to the south of the southern parking area. Lots of parking (N and S entrances from 900 E), but it still can fill up!”

“This is a cool little place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of SLC. Its free to walk around and see the grounds and the animals. It was perfect for my 4 and 6 year olds. They loved doing the scavenger hunt and finding all of the different critters. We also paid the $3 to let them do the wagon rides. They had a blast ans got to get out and burn a little energy. Really cool place.”

“I absolutely love it here and so do my babes! We love seeing and petting all the animals and going for a train ride! The little creek is so cute and my kids did little stick races in it. Also, LOVE that it’s free! Everything that does cost at the farm is very reasonably priced! And bonus points for such a cute playground too! Looking forward to our next visit to the farm 💕”

“Such an amazing place that is free! There might be a fee for events, house tour and rides, but not to walk around and see the animals. So scenic with gardens, historic buildings, trails and vintage tractors, trucks and farm equipment. Horses, rabbits, peacock, sheep and goats. A fantastic place to take photos!”

“Love this place! Especially for the little ones! It is free entry with the option to pay $3 for the wagon ride. They have horses, donkeys, sheep and much more for your little ones to see and enjoy! Also they have behind the farm little trails that you can walk! Stroller friendly!”

“One of my favorite spots in the salt lake City area. Awesome! Place to hang out with your four-legged angel secluded areas. A stream runs through the place farm animals, entertainment for the kids. Great place to hang out”
