Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Payment notes on file: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, VISA. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“Loved this place !! Been to many farms but never truly enjoyed the experience. Spend the day with family and extended family didn't even cover half the place or activities but the day was well spend and left a lasting impression on everyone that attended will return again and again and I have to see the cherry season !!! Had to edit and add !! Donuts are amazing !! We got plants / pumpkins / ciders / jams I think we pretty much sampled the store. I see someone complain about pricing at first it did look abit high but once you see how much can fit in the bags and how wonderful that place is you get a lot for your buck! We came back enough apples to share with friends family neighbors and still had plenty to eat and make pies. The music was great we heard it as we were leaving and saw the other families dancing it was the best experience ever don't let bad reviews discourage you come see for yourself🍎”

“For more than ten years, this farm is consistently our favorite for pick-your-own apples (and in general!). They don’t have the gimmick-y children’s activities, but they have the greatest farm stand, delicious, hot food, a brewery with periodic, live music, and an excellent selection of apples. It is also so clearly a family operation and all of them are friendly and wonderful. We’ve done a side-by-side taste test of their donuts versus other farms in the area, and they consistently win blind. I’ve resisted writing review for them because I don’t want this gem to get overrun, but they are the absolute best. For those living on Long Island, it is worth the extra 45 minute drive to go to this farm than to go out east with minimal selection and likely a similar amount of traffic.”

“Very good farm. Apple cider must try. We booked this farm for camping. Campground very large and flat. Very easy to set up tent. farm is huge. We drove around and saw many Apple🍎 trees. The farm has Apple picking. They have a store to sell the farm products. Cakes, jams, honey, baked goods, eggs, vegetables, apples, sausages, chickensoup, etc. Pumpkin 🎃 bread🍞 very good, not too sweet.”

“Stopped by here on the way back to the city and love everything we got from here! Apple cider and the donuts were so good and fluffy! Not hard at all and just the perfect taste, not too sweet. Also got the blueberry pie with crumbs on top and it hit the spot. Next trip to New Paltz or this area will definitely be back”

“Absolutely recommend! Incredible views from each campsite. Easy to get to and hosts are wonderful. The farm has a cute market with local cheeses, wines, pies and so much more! Campsites felt private and each has great views of the mountains. 10/10 would recommend and can’t wait to come back!”

“Thank you Wright Farm for an amazing day! We absolutely recommend coming up here for the day and enjoying the apple picking, store and brewery onsite. Everyone we met (owners of the farm) were a pleasure to speak with and such amazing hosts. We will be making this an annual outing.”

“Located just outside the New Paltz city area on Rt 208 in Gardiner. Lovely roadside store famous for their apples and apple products. Their seasonal plants are beautiful. For many many years now we always make a couple visits per year from Stony Point because we love Wrights!!”

“Super cute place. Got some seeds, jam, their apple cider donut and fresh ground coffee and eggs. They also have local wines and lots of flowers and herbs, some tallow cream and honey, frozen pies and sausages too. Worth a stop on your way home.”
