Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This place was packed with people busily checking out the stuff here and it seems like the pies were flying off the shelves. There was plenty of cool Christmas swag here and a fun gift shop destination. Parking needed a lot of patience, but if you go across the street there is plenty of it.”

“I love this place. Treat yourself with my favorite Caramel pecan Apple pie, the best!! and more yummy sweets!! Friendly staff, very clean & well maintained place. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Patio dining, little unique boutiques around and cute animals. I highly recommend!”

“Over the weekend, we decided to take a fun road trip up north to visit Apple Hill. It had been a while since we did this, and we were excited! We had a list of our favorite places we usually stop by, but this time, we decided to try something new - Abel's Apple Acres. We arrived at around 3:30 PM, and even though most of the weekend traffic was leaving Apple Hill, many folks were still enjoying Abel's Apple Acres. We strolled around, explored the little kiosks and shops, and eventually found ourselves in the food court. The food turned out to be pretty good. We shared a yummy BBQ plate, a bowl of beans, some regular fries, and a couple of delicious corn cobs. Surprisingly, no one in our group had any complaints about the taste or quality of the food - which is quite unusual for us! Plus, the prices were reasonable. The weather was fantastic, and we were eager to hit up our other favorite spots before they closed for the day, so we hopped back in the car. But one thing's for sure: we'll definitely be coming back to Abel's Apple Acres in the future!”

“This store is as good as the other more famous and crowded store at the hill. No line, plenty of food choices on the menu, it has pie, apple cider, and it has nice open and wide area on the back. This store doesn't doesn't sell fresh fruit or veggie. It has nice open area at the back of the store. As most people visit Aaple Hill from Hwy 50, you will reach the store at the end. Parking is quite easy. It is nice and alternate store to visit when you are around this area.”

“What a wonderful place lots of goodies & everything Apple 🍎 ❤️”
