Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Excellent local Orchard, in operation for 95 years; family-owned. Sells peaches, tomatos, and a few apple varieties in late summer, then offers more varieties of apples plus, gourds, caramel apples, and many other things in the fall. Has what I think is unquestionably the best apple cider in Central Indiana, and I have tried the cider from most local orchards! I think it has to do with the varieties of apples they choose to blend to create their own specific cider. Also sells jars of preserves, fancy mustards, other things. Definitely worth a visit; we sometimes drive from the East side of town just to stop and shop there in the fall.”

“Visiting the barn store and reaping the bounty of the harvest makes one think about hot spiced cider, pumpkin pie, and a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace. Take the kids, use one of the wagons and let them pick out their own pumpkin, straight from the pumpkin patch. The apple butter, jams and fresh produce are worth the stop to this quaint little farm set in a neighborhood in South Indy.”

“An amazing breath of fresh air right near the city. The freshest cider and a great homey atmosphere with some great deals on fresh produce. I will highly recommend this place as a must see in the fall season. They have fresh everything but also some canned and other goods.”

“PROs - this is actually an amazing place for Apple cider and caramel corn. I peeked into the store through the window at 5:50pm and saw they opened up the layout Inside. Something I'm not a fan of but it was probably very easy to set up and will be to take down. I recommend everyone try their cider. But remember to go about a couple hours after they open to make sure they haven't decided to stroll in an hour late or close early. CONs -not managed the best. Don't worry if you feel like a business would want your money and decide to unlock the front door or ask if you want to buy something. I did rush to get to this specific orchard only to see employees roaming around as I sit in my car typing this review. The employees have walked all around the lot even after they saw me try to come into the front door with cash in my hand. But anyhow. Good cider. But they aren't the only ones. Over All - At the risk of being called an entitled Karen. . . Which I happen to believe this applies to any business and is not simply my attempt to complain and be a biotch about this business. But any business that says they are open until 6pm. Should remain open until 6pm. It's highly highly annoying to show up 10 minutes until close and see the closed sign on the door and a cashier just chilling behind the counter. I mean that's fine to close at 5pm if that's what the business needs to do. I assume the employee doesn't own the business or I bet she would have kept those doors open until the very minute incase someone strolled in at the last minute trying to give you all my money.”
