Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“We had such a fun time at the Ashe County Corn Maze. The new location is so open and spacious with awesome views of Mt Jefferson. My dogs had an absolute blast! There were tons of activities to do, pumpkin bowling, soccer, Basketball, bounce houses, corn maze, and the mini maze. Delicious funnel cakes and fried Oreos! Highly recommend!”

“Had a great afternoon with the family at the corn maze. It was the best maze we have been through! The pumpkin canon went off at least three times while we were there! Always a highlight! Great way to spend the afternoon! I recommend it to everyone, great way to spend a fall afternoon!”

“Amazing fall experience. Super fun maze, not too hard (if you cheat and peek at the map like us 😉) and a very friendly staff. The pumpkin cannon was amazing! The Mountain views are incredible too.”

“Great fun. Large area with multiple bouncy houses. Hard to pull the kids away. Good corn maze. The people there were also so nice and helpful. We will come back next year!”

“We had the BEST time here with our 6 year old. She loved everything they had to offer & everyone we encountered who were working there were so kind.”

“Ok for kids 8 and under. Corn maze isn't too challenging. Would be better if they put a creepy scarecrow scare actor in there to add a bit of thrill. Oh, n the band should set equipment up before people arrive. High pitch feedback really kills the ears. Oh, and maybe add more food like roasted corn on a stick, corn fritters, apple pies, pumpkin bread and walnut candy for a real autumn gathering.”

“10$ for a maze is a ok price. The canon wasn't even working, no hayride. Honestly it wasn't even worth the 10 dollars it was by far one of the more lame maze/fall activities ive experienced. I wouldn't recommend it, maybe if you have young kids it would be worth it. There's way better mazes/ pumpkin patches out there so dont waste your money on this one. Just my opinion”

“What a rip off. It's 10 per person just to walk through a very simple maze. They don't allow the $20 same day purchase for the haunted trail, that's separate. Bad business all around. The bubble buckets were empty the bowling pins wouldn't stand up.”
