A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“The most traditional harvesting methods found anywhere. Multiple generation - deep root - harvested crops - so what- due to unforeseen circumstances - one lose - but the Parker’s and their Orchards - the history is clear - it is evident they will continue because they refuse to forget - Continuity is rare- season come and seasons go - but the Parker’s service, stewardship to community, family tradition, and God -is bar none. They remain rooted in the old but reliable parable “An Apple 🍎 A Day Keeps the Doctor Away”. So Thank You Parker’s Orchard and staff and a shout out for being - solid honest folks - despite one rough harvest - the message is clear - “come back, we will be here!” Keep producing the Old Black Twig - best of all time - Pure Gold 🌳 🍎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“My husband and I visited Parkers Orchard on 10/2/2023. We really enjoyed the hospitality and friendly young lady. She gave us details about each apple. The apples are delicious and big. We had a great time. I was a little scary going up into the high mountains but the trip was well worth it all. I highly recommend Parkers Orchard to everyone.”

“Nice roadside stand. Stopped for some peaches, and left with apples, cantaloupe, nectarines along with the peaches. Can't wait until apple season is in full swing.”

“I saw a couple of apple varieties i wasn't familiar with. The woman working there didn't know one apple from the next.”

“Visited 9/15/2025 around noon. Bought Gala and Ginger Gold and peaches. On cutting Gala for a snack, one was bruised beyond use and second bruised some what. Fruit dry and mealy. They are selling fruit from another orchard as all of theirs was lost due to hail. I suspect they are selling old Tevapaugh fruit. Stay away from Brushy Mountain fruit (Maybe try Hendersonville). Will update when try Ginger Gold and peaches. Update: Ginger Gold just as bad. Have enjoyed fruit from here for several years. To sell this as fresh fruit has put an end to that. Only 45% of fruit usable for applesauce. Found many stickers on fruit. Peaches barely edible.”
