Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Iowa.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Amazing Orchard, it's so much fun to go and pick apples with the family! Neatly laid out, and has several photo ops set up around the Orchard for some pretty fall photos for you to show off how cool you are on Facebook. Only problem is the cat's out of the bag so if your favorite apple is in season you need to hurry out! I will be there next fall for the apples and fun!”
“My husband and I stopped by Sat., for our first visit. We were impressed with how well-organized the orchard was and enjoyed picking a variety of beautiful apples. It didn't take long to pick and was a fun experience. So far, the Macintosh are my favorite.”
“The owners were very friendly and helpful. Be sure to pay attention to when different varieties become available. Popular ones may run out quickly.”
“Nice place to get fresh apples. They have a good variety to choose from. Just be prepared to wait until your favorite is ready to pick.”
