Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Ohio.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“LOVE THIS PLACE.. Glad they recently reopened. Best prices on flowers with great quality. I would like them to offer more varieties although, I'm sure that will come in time. I absolutely love that their meats come from their own farm so I know it's better quality / healthier stuff than what I can get at Kroger's. I like that they have good quality mulch, prices are just okay on that. Making an edit!! Previously reviews comment.. I would like to them offer more of a triple shred variety in future...??? New review after getting it out home and down in yard... Their much is triple shredded, if not more ! And I love how it looks too! I'm going to add a picture.. I started this project about a week ago and bought five bags of Scotts regular mulch at Lowe's 5bgs for 10 dollars.. On the right side of this picture is what I previously purchased. The left side of this picture is what I just got from Bayer's Melon Farm. BIG DIFFERENCE!! I'll definitely be going back and getting more mulch from this place Even if it is a little bit more in cost, it will be worth it! ?”

“Bayer’s Melon Farm Market is a gem! They have a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, plus my favorite honey. Their watermelons looked incredible and tasty. I picked up some peaches, cherries, apples, and pears, and they were hands down the best fruits I’ve ever had they were so fresh and full of flavor. The worker there is incredibly helpful and always ready to assist with a smile. If you’re looking for top quality produce and a friendly, welcoming market experience, Bayer’s is the place to go!”

“The quality of meat is superior over local supermarkets. Even though it's out of my way definitely worth the drive. I haven't had much produce but I have heard the rave about the melons, can't wait to try.”

“Such an amazing place! The people there are so kind and helpful and they have a great selection of plants, flowers, fresh produce, honey, local meats and more. Thank you Bayers for your wonderful market!”

“Just found this place this summer, their produce is so rich, flavorful, and sweet! And they have homemade Strawberry Rhubarb filling, as well as peach! I’m on their email list for new items too!”

“We just visited and the market is under new ownership. Baked goods are delicious, their greenhouse offerings are wonderful. Prices very fair. Definitely will be going back!”

“Love coming here. Fresh produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, beautiful array of flowers/plants, outdoor/patio furniture, etc and very friendly and welcoming service. ❤️”

“Very kind employees, unfortunately VERY expensive. Produce section is limited. Covered wagon has far more variety and a better bang for your buck.”
