Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“Great berries as usual. The only thing I noticed this year we're little blue pellets all over the plants and berries....I assume it's fertilizer. It was pretty gross because I had blue pellets inbedded in some of the berries.”

“At $1.75 per pound the strawberries are worth every penny. Everyone enjoyed picking some delicious berries. I would recommend this and might even stop by a second time while I am in town.”

“This is a good, well organized pick your own patch. This year (2018) I believe the price is $1.60 per pound for pick-your-own. I got the pictured box for $10. It was quick in and out too.”

“I have come here for the last 6 years! They have the best patch I have ever been to. Bought 82 lbs this year!”

“It first of all is a fabulous fruit farm..the best peaches for miles..the country setting is lovely nice”

“The berries are delicious and sweet and the workers are very nice”

“Owner seemed nice. Didn't realize we were only supposed to pick from the one row with the flag. Wasn't much as far as size in "our" row. Most was squishy or had nibbles taken out. We did find some among the other rows before being told we were not supposed to switch rows. Besides that, We left with a little over 2lbs, they smell great and were decent priced. Not sure if we'll travel that far again.”

“Strawberries were nice and ripe! Except for the fact the row we were assigned to had already been picked over, so we didn't get very many big ones.”
