Grissom Family Orchard and Farm Market

“While traveling back from Charleston with my friend Cindy, she decided to stop by the Grisson Family Orchard and Farm Market. Business seemed to be quiet, perhaps because it was midweek, but still the I was Impressed with the Variety of Locally Crafted and Curated Items that they had to offer. The Structure itself is Unique and Charming, but it's actually the Folks that bring their Character and Personal Connections to this Market that are the Best of what can be found here... and they contribute and enhance the ambiance. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take Photos, and shame on me for that, because both from the Roadside and Inside, you could sense the Love of the Folks that make the Market Special. As I leisurely wandered through the Market, I saw many Handcrafted Canned Preserves, something that reminded me of the Moments that I spent as a young boy watching my Aunt, Mom and Sisters prepare themselves... and I remembered the Love that they themselves contributed through the hard... and for them, somewhat Nerve-wracking Process of Canning with a Pressure Cooker. But, still they persevered, just like the Folks here at Grissom's. Suddenly, something caught my Eyes... A Jar of Seedless Red Raspberry Jam. But, this was not just an Ordinary Jar of Jam, because across the label where two very Important Words to me Personally: "No Sugar". You, see...I am diabetic and although I can and do manage my Sugar Levels quite Expertly, I had never seen a Jar of Jam quite like This One. Oh, yeah, I can and do by Sugar-Free Preserves in the Grocery Store, and Yes, they are Good... but this was Freshly Made and also a Perishable Item, like so many of the Products here. Across the back of the Jar, was an Additional label that Read "Made by the Countryside Jam House"... Even though I knew that wouldn't be able to Consume the Jam before the "Best Buy date, I bought it anyway, in the hope that I be able to Share it with Someone else that might Appreciate the Love of People like those that Contribute to the Grisson Family Orchard and Market... And, before I departed, my own eyes were Moist for the Humility and Gratitude that I felt for their Awareness of Kindness of those of us that are Diabetic... and also for the Memories of my Aunts, Mom, and Sister, that they evoked in me. “New owners, lots of upgrades to the place. More handicap friendly ramp, the gift shop has more open hours. A huge selection of jams and jellies including lots of sugar free. Their slushies are wonderful. They usually have a no additional sugar added as well as a sugar added slushie flavor available . Very friendly and helpful.”
