Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“My partner and i visited Blake’s on a Tuesday afternoon, while there weren't many people there we still had a great time! We stopped in to have lunch and do some cider tasting! The tasting flight is reasonably priced and you get a-lot of cider for a really great price! The Big Jam, Triple Jam and the Salted Carmel apple were definitely my favorites! As for tge donuts we tried, i didnt find them to be that great but on the other hand the fritters both apple and cherry were amazing! We will definitely be back before fall is over!”

“What a great way to spend the day with two little kids. I wanted to visit foe years to try the cider mill and when I eventually made it, we had a toddler in tow. I was worried he would be bored but with the amazing fun land, the cider mill ended up being the smallest part of our visit. There was so much to do with a kid, he had so much fun that eventually he asked to take a nap (its normally a daily fight). The tulip field was beautiful, and the tasting room was a great way to explore new ciders.”

“This is a great place. I've been going here for 30 years and have watched many charges over the years. They're is something for everyone! A great place for kids to enjoy with many activities for them. A restaurant and bar too. Produce picking, flower picking, tree cutting the list goes on. Now that my kids are grown Ive even started coming back by myself or with friends for all the festivals they throw all year! Highly recommend!!!”

“OMG! I Loved this place!! The cider was delicious and the food was pretty dang tasty! The waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful, good job Zabrielle! (sorry about spelling), definitely recommend the cider, especially the Orangesicle Cider. The fry flight was delicious as well I would highly recommend. Blake's has been around forever and hopefully last just as long!”

“Easy to find close to the freeway. pick strawberries were so worth it. My daughter and I picked 21 lbs in about an hour with her two toddlers. It was so much fun and well maintained with straw so we didn’t walk in any muddy rows and it kept the strawberries off the ground to go moldy. Fair pricing that the experience alone made it worth it. Would definitely go back!”

“Had a great time exploring the tulip fields and playing in funland with our three year old. Funland is very spaced out with lots of room to run and play. Impressive variety of activities!”

“Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill is a fun place to visit, especially during the fall season. There's plenty of parking, and the U-pick experience is enjoyable. They provide a 10-pound box for picking, which is around $50, with a $20 minimum purchase. If you have kids, Funland is a great attraction, although it's not always open and is typically available on weekends. The food is good, but it's on the expensive side. For myself and two children, lunch came to about $50 for two hot dogs, two slushies, one cider, and a pretzel with cheese. The pumpkins are usually more expensive than what you'll find at a local farm stand—often close to double the price—but they have a large selection in many shapes and sizes. Overall, it's a great place to spend a few hours and enjoy the fall atmosphere, just be prepared for higher prices.”

“Had the absolute best time at Blake’s with my family! There’s so much for kids to do, giant trampolines, bounce houses, multiple playgrounds, a petting zoo, and more. The food options were great, and the strawberry donuts are absolutely worth the trip. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the sign for the strawberry-picking wagon ride said the last ride was at 6:30 p.m., but it actually stopped running at 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately, my family missed out on what we were most excited about. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back.”
