Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Iowa.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Always a great experience. The owner and her family are very friendly and helpful. The farm is clean and organized so good. The blue berries are amazing. Very easy to pick a bucket full in a short time. The rows are very neatly maintained and so easy to access vines full of fruit. They offer organic strawberries from their farm for sale as well as local honey and organic eggs. Very unique and healthy experience.”

“Great place to get plump delicious organic berries. Prices are very reasonable and makes our 1.5 hour drive well worth it! We also come in the autumn for persimmon picking and have enjoyed both experiences, it has become tradition!.”

“Wonderful variety of blueberries to pick from. The bushes are full with berries and in no time you will have a gallon picked. The owners are great and we had an awesome experience.”
