What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Pennsylvania, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“What a great place to take the kids to pick pumpkins and apples. It's smaller than the big places we usually go to. I get so tired of trying to avoid the game area, crowds, and the mazes. If you are looking for a farm to pick this is it. If you are looking for corn mazes, games, and bakery or food go somewhere else. Bobwhite has a nice hay ride out to the field of pumpkins and you can easily walk to the orchards. They have the coolest vintage carts for the apples. They still have Apple cider for sale plus other fruits and vegetables and pre picked pumpkins and apples so you can just stop by and purchase them quickly if you need to. I was very happy with the prices. Today pumpkins were $.40/lb and apples were $.85/lb. 2 baskets full came to about 40 lbs of apples. We're happy and the grandkids and daughter were, too. They had the densest apple trees I've ever seen. Another great memory made today.”

“Had a great time this afternoon picking peaches with my 4 year old. First time here, and won't be the last. Non commercialized, quiet, quaint and beautiful. Prices were extremely reasonable. We picked about 40 peaches and paid $21. (Cash only) Talked with two different staff members, both were very helpful and kind. The provided basket wagons were easy to pull, and very helpful in holding your haul. Oh, and the peaches are delicious!! 5 stars all around. Thanks Bobwhite!”

“It’s nice. There’s no tractor rides. You walk to the orchard. There is a little wagon thing for the bucket which can be quite a work out going to and fro. It is also hard to pull the wagon if you have a toddler that throws a tantrum if you don’t hold them. The farm market is nice. Really big onions! Apple slushee was refreshing.”

“We have been coming to Bob White Acres for years for their pick your own strawberries, blueberries, cherries and apples. Their corn is amazing too! Highly recommend for an outing with your children and grandchildren- ours have grown up here with summer visits and now we enjoy it with our grandchildren.”

“Went to pick some peaches and was not disappointed. No admission fee, very good price (paid $1.30 a lbs) tons of variety and delicious peaches! Definitely will be coming back for more!”

“Our favorite place for pick your own fruit! You have to try the Apple cider slushies! Tip; it's a cash only establishment. No restrooms.”

“Always great produce at Bob Whites. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Our daughters love going every year.”

“$1.20 a pound to pick your own apples. Staff wasn't super friendly, but were okay. It was fun picking apples and the kids liked pulling the cart around.”
