Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Excellent place to pick apples. Great place for all. Very family friendly to include the four legged members of the family. The staff was very welcoming and explained the location of all the different types of apples. Try their (cameo) its a cross breed. The staffed also pointed out the cones at the end of row meant there were still apples on the trees. Very reasonable prices. Great family outing! Definitely recommend!”

“Just visited and had an excellent experience all around! Staff was helpful and friendly, all the rows were clearly marked and explained so it was clear what to pick. Excellent variety of apples. Picked honeycrisp and a lot of peaches and the quality of everything is excellent! Lastly, the pricing was extremely fair. Would highly recommend to anyone!”

“A wonderful opportunity to enjoy the fresh fruit that you pick yourself. I've learned about the Hamilton Family Orchards from my coworker, and visited the 1st time to collect white peaches. Truly ripe on the tree and for a fraction of the store price. My wife and I will return for sure. Thank you.”

“Super friendly and very nice selection of apples. At $1.60 per pound it is a great price. Plenty of baskets and bags for picking. Well worth the trip. No entry fee and plenty of parking on a field. Porta POTTY is available.”

“Great Pick Your Own farm. I picked peaches. They tasted amazing. The price was good too. I'll definitely be coming back for apples. Definitely recommend this place over other farms.”

“Great place! Super friendly, well maintained, easy parking, great prices! Will definitely be back to pick more with the family. Thank you!”

“Crazy experience today on their last day of PYO. We filled two buckets with apples, so excited to get home and bake! Attending the cash register & scale are two women (one with short hair and one with longer hair) and a man with a mustache. We approach them to pay and there’s a bucket of Halloween candy out near the scales. My child asks me for a treat. I say “no”. One woman working with longer hair goes “why?”. Confused, I look at her and I say “are you asking me why I’m telling my child he can’t have a treat?” And she goes “yes?”. As if she’s entitled to my response. I tell her she’s out of line for asking a parent something like that. The male and another woman are just standing there as if I’m the one out of line. So I tell them I no longer want to purchase the apples and start gathering the group I was with to leave. As this is occurring the three of them start looking at each other and smirking as they rolled their eyes at me. Like I was an adversarial customer for no reason. I turned to leave ahead of my group and from behind I hear the same woman go “woooooow omg!” So I turn around again and say “why are you continuing? I’m literally leaving and you want to keep going?” And the man starts storming over to me pointing at the exit, as if he was going to attempt to strong arm me into leaving. Instead of addressing the god awful woman and her comment, he turned me into the problem. Maybe it’s an old person thing but that entire interaction was disgustingly uncalled for. Unfortunately they’re probably the owners so none of these reviews aren’t going to change their “customer service” but I’m positive it will deter people from buying from them next season. I’m also pleased to share that I’m an influencer, and did vlog today’s outing, including that terrible interaction. It will end up on TikTok for at least my 114k followers to see, plus hopefully more. My videos tend to go viral so maybe Hamilton Family Orchard will go viral.. for the wrong reason. Good luck to them!”

“The peaches and apples here are excellent—fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, the service and attitude toward customers are very disappointing. Whether owners or staff, the way they treat clients is rude and unwelcoming. Good produce should go hand in hand with good customer service. Sadly, despite the quality of the fruit, the experience leaves a bad impression.”
