What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Georgia, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Georgia.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We stayed there end of May for 2 nights, with a kid and the experience was nothing short of AMAZING!! Farm owners are hardworking and extremely warm people. They made every possible attempt to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and were kind to check in late night for extra blankets (if we were cold) or if we wanted them to leave the porch light open ( so we could easily find the outdoor restroom) all night. They didn't have to do those things but they did and that's what counts end of the day. We've traveled a fair bit across the globe and haven't met such genuine loving people. I would stay there again ,just for those guys! They allow use of a clean bathroom (5 min walk from the campsite) if you don't want to use the Tentrr provided loo. They also do Apiculture (Bee breeding) and were luckily having a session while we were there (provided us the Bee suits and everything) ! They also have farm animals and the dogs ( Michael & Peppa) are adorable. Our kid is 7 yrs old and had a blast!! Laura makes some delicious preserves and you can buy them too. Check out Georgia guide stones and Watson Mill park covered bridge if you are in the area.”

“Exceptional berries and great experience picking mulberries and blackberries (blueberries are not ripe yet so we'll be back!). The farm is beautiful, peaceful, and neat, owned by nice people who are professional farmers and food scientists. They know how to grow clean great quality berries without using chemicals and pesticides. If you haven't tried mulberries, get yourself to this farm! You are in for a treat - they are amazing sweet berries with delicate flavor, easy to pick (they grow on trees), with great health benefits. Blackberries are very large, jucy, and tasty. Highly recommended!”

“Just ate an entire large jar of lemon curd with my husband. Half went on a croissant and the rest we ate with a spoon. Laura and her husband are artists with food. We love the tomato jam on our jalapeño and cheese burgers. Perfect hot and spicy with sweet tomato. The jams with herbs are perfect for cheese and charcuterie boards. My must have now is the minced garlic. I love garlic but hated all of the prep and smelly fingers. Thanks for making Saturday my favorite food day. Wholesome food with an ingredient list that is actually food.”

“Buffalo Creek Berry Farm had the most beautiful produce and pickled/brined goods at the Freedom Farmer's Market at the Carter Center. Safe to say I haven't stopped eating the shredded ginger carrots and will be needing lots more from them next weekend Really appreciate their quality and no added sugar.”
