A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Wisconsin.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This is a lovely orchard! Our family and friends gathered here to pick blueberries, which made delicious jam. They have a small store, food truck, and playground. Porta potties, if needed. There was a gentleman sitting out front with honey and homemade candles, along with a hive with a glass pane for viewing. The children and adults both enjoyed this. Would recommend getting there right when they open to pick before the day gets too hot! Also, the more experienced berry pickers that we joined wear pants or shorts with belt loops, or a belt, and bring an ice cream gallon bucket to attach for faster picking.”

“Cains orchard is a must visit if you're in the area and definitely worth the drive even if you have to travel. The owners, past and present, are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile to ensure you've got what you came for. The apples are gorgeous, tasty, affordable (10 pound bag of you pick is only $4.00) and easily pickable. The wagon ride and gift shop are family fan favorites. Our family looks forward to continuing our apple picking tradition and visit every year.”

“We always come here, they have fantastic blueberry picking, always plentiful. Today we went apple picking and even with the gloomy day it was delightful. Bonus, we were greeted by this very friendly cat at the end, she made it a sweet end to the day :) Also relevant, they used to have apple samples in store to try the varieties, but I haven't seen them back since covid. Still, maybe they will return. Either way it is a great place, lovely people and worth a visit or many :)”

“Cain's Orchard was great for blueberry picking. My mom and I went the 3rd week in July. We got there around 9am which was great for picking before the sun came all the way up. We each picked a pail and when I got home I made blueberry bars with crumble topping! The prices at Cain's are very reasonable, and their shop has a lot of cool, well-priced trinkets that I picked up too! We had a very nice, relaxing time here.”

“It felt like I was getting a glimpse into what heaven will be like! The fields were beautiful with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The berries! Seemingly endless acres of blueberries ripe & ready for picking. Best of all, you can pick & taste test the variety of choices. We came home with quite a loot! A great way to spend an afternoon with family & friends 👍🫐”
