“From placing my order via DM from Australia for two hanging flower baskets, to personally taking photos and setting them aside for a family member to collect and deliver to my 86-year-old mum on Greater Sacandaga Lake, NY, Carmen Farms showed the kind of care and customer service that’s hard to find today. Carmen Farms is owned and operated by Tom Leone, a passionate small business owner who truly believes in old-school customer service and supporting both his customers and local farmers. I’ve known Tom for more than 52 years, and his dedication to the community has never changed. He consistently goes above and beyond, providing the freshest local fruits, vegetables, hanging plants, floral arrangements, dark mulch, homemade pies, and country-style baked goods. His farm stand on Hamburg Street in Rotterdam, NY, has become legendary in the community for its quality, friendliness, and commitment to supporting local growers. Every visit feels personal, welcoming, and authentic — the way small businesses used to be. If you haven’t stopped by Carmen Farms yet, you’re missing out on some of the freshest farm produce, beautiful plants, and homemade baked goods in the area, all served with genuine care and old-fashioned hospitality”

“The only reason I'm giving five stars is becausehe's usually honest with me and I had some great food from there. But this time I'm not happy and I will be returning my watermelon that he said was a real watermelon. Seedless is not real and I told him that. This is a seedless watermelon I don't eat seedless watermelon or any other vegetables that don't have seeds.”

“The Leones are a staple in the Rotterdam community. Best roadside plants and flowers. Also this is where to get mulch. They deliver mulch, stone and topsoil. Always with a smile! Thank you Carman Farms for all your years of servicing the public, and landscapers with consistent quality products. Alan Bursor AL'S Landscaping”

“I cook on a regular basis.. I enjoy the best meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. The owner od this fruit and vegetable stand is old school.. He pays attention to selections, quality and ripeness. He is extremely knowledgeable. The best fruit and vegetable stand I've bought from.”

“My husband and I come back every year in spring & summer for our annuals. They always look beautiful and last for a long time. We also come back in the fall and our son gets his pumpkins here. We will keep coming back. Always a friendly atmosphere.”

“Excellent quality produce! Best tomatoes I've had for several years. Very juicy and no tough woody cores! Pears just about melted in my mouth. Mushrooms were the cleanest I've seen in a long time. Service was friendly and helpful.”

“Their vegetables are so fresh and delicious. It's a shame the season is so short. Great people.”

“Overpriced garbage. Stick to browns farm who actually grows their own stuff. And does not rot 2 days later”
