Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Autumn Tradition at The Country Mill We made our annual trip out to The Country Mill to “Pick a Peck For People” again this year, and it was absolutely wonderful. This family-run orchard continues to impress with its warm atmosphere, genuine hospitality, and strong sense of community. Whether you’re coming for fresh apple cider, warm donuts, or simply to breathe in the crisp fall air among the trees, The Country Mill delivers a perfect mix of charm and tradition. The apples are always top-notch, the cider is second to none, and the staff make you feel like part of the family. If you enjoy good food, friendly faces, and a wholesome outdoor experience, this is the place to be. It’s a beautiful reminder that the best memories are made together, one apple at a time. 🍎🍩🍁 A special shoutout to Michelle, Ciara and Hayley, three truly amazing women whose kindness, patience, and hard work make every visit feel special. Their smiles and dedication reflect the heart of this God-fearing farm. And to Steve and Bridget, along with their wonderful children, thank you for devoting your lives to God, country, and community. Your faith, family values, and commitment to serving others shine through in everything you do at The Country Mill and beyond. It’s more than just an orchard, it’s a living example of grace, gratitude, and good stewardship. 🍎🙏🇺🇸”

“I've shot at the Country Mill on several occasions over the years, and I absolutely love the variety of backdrops this venue has to offer! From weddings to most recently a senior session, the options are endless. You can capture midwest nature at it's finest with their gorgeous sunflower fields, vines and endless orchards to rustic barn and wood backdrops. Staff is so kind and helpful as well! We also go every year as a family for the best fresh apples and donuts around. Highly Recommend!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This orchard is a hidden gem! Their cider and donuts easily beat the big-name brands—the flavor is fresher, the texture is perfect, and you can actually taste the care that goes into every batch. What makes it even better is the boutique vibe: cozy, charming, and personal. It feels special every time I visit—like you’re supporting something authentic, not just another chain. If you’re looking for the best donuts around, this is the spot.”

“I had come to the Counrty Mill Farms to do a photoshoot for Lady Meadow Photography of the sunflowers and I was not disappointed. Not only was there sunflowers but they were yellow, pinkish red, and white flowers and they were absolutely beautiful. Not only were the flowers beautiful but there was a pound with a dock that I was able to use in my photoshoot as well as a bench. I will be recommending the Country Mill to my friends and family!!”

“Country Mill is the absolute perfect place for senior photos! Or any occasion! So many different options for backgrounds, Something that everyone is bound to love! I even bring my own family every year and pick apples and get delicious donuts!! Such a well run, family oriented business!”

“Had an amazing experience with my clients as well as the wonderful folks working! We came a bit later in the year for a photography session and though we came late there was still many activities and amazing donuts !! @ REAMasteredphotography”

“My grandson and my neighbors and I went to Country Mill and had donut sundaes. They were yummy. Thanks to Bridget and her staff Kat and Reliegh for their wonderful, friendly service. It's the beginning of a good day.”

“Affordable donuts and cider. It has a lot of things to do. Approximately 40 min walk corn maze, wagon rides, apple cannon, pumpkin slingshot, playground, slides, indoor seating, U-Pick apples. Great for all ages.”
