“Super cute little family farm and picnic area. Totally worthwhile stopping and taking in the scenery! Nice little spot right by the Tuckaseegee River. Gorgeous views, lots of strawberries! There's a great little Farm Stand that sells all kinds of vegetables fruit preserves honey as well as homemade smoothies and fruit ice cream concoctions that are delicious! There's lots of little shady areas to hangout. Lots of room to spread out & picnic. There's nice big swings and great area to roam around it's very beautiful and worth it! You can pick your own strawberries if you like and also there is live music occasionally.”

“What a fun and classic mountainside farm stand. The soft serve is their signature but they have so much more! Including a tomato sandwich, a bologna sandwich, roasted fresh corn, great boiled peanuts, and more. Plus a HUGE selection of produce and some grocery items. They have live music and other events that we didn’t get a chance to experience but will be back! There is also a huge play area for kids of all ages and BIG playground swings that adults can have fun on, too. It’s beautiful, right on the river. Definitely make time to stop here!”

“Darnell Farms has it all! The market is lovely with plenty of fresh seasonal produce plus jars of jams and picked items! They also have Dole Whip treats that are super fun! When we went on the weekend they had a live bluegrass band and a flea market with handmade jewelry, soaps, clothes, trinkets, ect. They also had food trucks and plenty of picnic tables to sit and eat. There are swings and climbing gyms for the kids too. And a fun old hollowed out tree to explore! It would be easy to spend a whole day here!”

“This place is stunningly beautiful and SUPER kid friendly! We stayed much longer than we planned, and now talk about making the drive to go back often. Also, we bought a bunch of strawberry plants to bring home, and I really appreciate that they helped me out with knowing what’s best to grow them. I think what they have going on up there is rare and wonderful.”

“Loved this place, loved the service, everyone treated us like family and the prices were super fair. They had live singing and fresh strawberries. Very kid friendly and many places to sit creekside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Conveniently located just 10 miles from Cherokee, NC, do yourself a favor and check out Darnell Farms y'all!!!”

“I can not get enough of this amazing family farm. From regular every day happenings to special “festivals” they have; it is ALWAYS an amazing experience. I got to sample yellow and orange watermelon this past weekend and I had to bring some home. I had to get my dream whip as well… iykyk!”
