What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for North Carolina, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Last week, my dad and I stumbled upon this wonderful you-pick blueberry and blackberry farm while visiting NC. Shortly after we started picking some berries, we were greeted by the owner. She was happy that we had stopped by to pick some berries since she didn't want them to go to waste. Upon asking her where we could find some firewood for our grill back at the the cabin, she immediately took time out of her day to help us find firewood on her property. She was amazingly pleasant, funny, generous and kind. We were blown away by the hospitality she showed to strangers she had just met. I highly recommend that you stop by and pick some delicious berry from her farm. Looking forward to coming back in the coming years.”

“Enjoyed a great morning picking blueberries. I spoke to Mr. Sharp, the owner over the phone and he gave me all the info about picking. He said he would send down his grandson to meet us. His Assistant Manager/Grandson, Christopher, came down to greet us and what a JOY it was meeting him. He said he would be going into 3rd grade and was quite the salesman!! I can’t wait for blueberry season next year, because we will certainly be back!!”

“08/07/2024: Went on a berry picking date with my fiance, spoke with Mr. Michael Sharp who was a kind southern gentleman who owns the berry farm. They have buckets on site and it is an honor system with his current pricing at $3.00/Quart. The berry farm includes both blackberries and blueberries. Mr. Sharp had informed us he also does not use any sorts of poisons such as insecticides or pesticides, so chemical free and locally grown!”

“SpecTACular experience!!! Beautiful setting and the owner is so so kind. He took the time to ride down and check on us, and point us in the right direction for the BEST Blueberries!! There are Blackberries as well. Such a wonderfully wholesome, inexpensive, outdoor activity for the entire family no matter the age. We will return every single opportunity we get. Edit: Just a few hours later - Blueberry Cobbler!!”

“July 18th Such a sweet little place. Met the owner, a very nice lady and you can tell she's in a grandma mindset, it's a kids paradise. Our 2 year old enjoyed picking the blueberries and blackberries (and then fed the bunny! There are also chickes and chicks at the moment) and played at the mini sandbox with the tractors. Been there at 9am and it was still mostly shaded.”

“The owner was very nice and told us where the best section was for picking blueberries. He said he’s been holding his price steady for many years and he appreciates the visitors. There are roosters crowing and sweet dogs on the property. He had a good crop and nicely kept terrain to walk around for picking berries.”

“June 2025 - this is a great picking place! They have an honor system set-up where you can grab a bucket and come during daylight hours 7 days a week. The phone number listed above is active and we met the owners and they’re lovely”

“Perfect family activity. There's a sandbox and seesaw and plenty of other kids toys to occupy the kids once they get sick of picking/ eating the berries. So many berries!!!”
