In September, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Idaho, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Idaho.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We met a nice gentlemen who was selling Deer Creek honey, jam and a few other things by Cabela’s in Boise a few days ago. Boy is their stuff amazing. We are not honey connoisseurs by any means. So, naturally, we didn’t ever know the difference between the store bought stuff and local.. until now! Their honey is divine. We could literally gobble down spoonfuls of it, it’s THAT good. This is how honey should taste. A million times better than the stuff from Costco that interestingly comes out of Argentina. Don’t get us started on the healthy jam. YEP. Healthy jam. The elderberries, chokecherry and blueberries that go into it make for a heavenly concoction that’s good on literally everything. Thank you for sharing your hard work with the folks like us that live closer to the bigger cities. We appreciate you and are so glad to support local businesses such as yourself. Hopefully we’ll run into you again soon, cuz it’ll be a sad day when our honey runs out!”

“I bought the 'Raw Mountain Honey' at Atkinson's Market in Hailey ID and really LOVE it! The color is a beautiful warm yellow and the taste is wonderful, flavorful but mild and natural. I will definitely buy this honey again - it's the best thing I've tried in a long time!”
