Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Massachusetts.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“We were looking for a pet friendly apple orchard and we found a great one. The staffs were friendly and still lot of apples to be picked. The best part is seeing a lots of furry friends all over the orchard. This orchard is not as big as other but it wasn't as busy as other farms that you literally have to fight people for apples. It was a super relaxed atmosphere. There is no entertainments here, so look elsewhere if you are into anything other than just picking apples. It was a nice stroll through the orchard and running into random furry friends with our dog. There is no bathroom here except a few portable toilets, but they are clean. We will be back next year!”

“Every year we cut down ( with the gracious assistance of the Doe army of Elves) a beautiful and fresh tree at Doe Orchards and load it on top of our car to take to our son and his family in Fairfield,CT. Since the tree is so fresh it doesn’t shed needles the entire time that it is up (through January 6th.) This year (2025) we found an especially glorious tree 🌲🌲 and look forward to many more years of finding another perfect tree 🙏🏼🌲🙏🏼”

“Loved this place. We went there for apple picking and only three variety of apples were available to pick up. Great experience. Lot of place for parking. Nice thing about this place that you could bring your dog which usually not allowed on such places. We met one staff and asked many questions and he was very happy to share lot of information about the farm. He was truly dedicated staff and gained lot of insight. I definitely recommend.”

“We love Doe Orchards! We have been going ever since we moved to the area a few years ago. Blueberries, peaches, apples, sunflowers, pumpkins, cider, Christmas trees - they have all of the seasonal offerings in a beautiful orchard. We always feel welcome and so appreciate that we can bring our dog!”

“Love this place. It's a hidden gem for orchards and pick your own apples. It's never crowded and the quality of fruit is top notch. It's not the spectacle place where you have cider doughnuts and hay rides and petting zoo and that's okay.”

“This is a gem of an orchard. Huge, peaceful, plentiful. There were half a dozen varieties of apples all ready for picking in mid-September. Affordable and delicious. I highly recommend the courtland variety!”

“We do our best to make the trek from Boston at least once a year. Nice quiet place to enjoy a stroll through the orchard. Delicious apples and peaches. So juicy!”

“Dog friendly! Apple trees easily marked! A cute Christmas tree farm included as well! Didn't find it too crowded at all. Will definitely be back next year”
