Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Colorado.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“What an adorable place this is! Went to get peaches & cherries for the communications crew & the chinook crew for the black canyon fire & after buying some, she found out what we were doing with them & donated a box of peaches to the cause. It was so incredibly kind & thoughtful. When I got to the Delta airport they were switching crews & exchanging reports, so there were more people than I had expected & bought for. So the donation was incredible & fed all! It was perfect timing for their sweet treat! Billings & Outback Firefighting thanks you!!!”

“Over 30 years, my family has brought produce, juices, and eggs at Fritchman Orchards. Real peaches and apricots from local orchards. Fresh hen eggs. Fritchman makes their own apple juice. Even local pinto beans, rurbarb, squash, melons. And corn. Dill, onions all fresh and a joy to eat. Whether small purchases or 20 pound boxes, they sell it.”

“Good quality produce, prices are fair enough. They have one of my absolute favorite apple varieties (the best...my favs are grown in Colorado & the in the northeast US). There's plenty of apple options for everyone's taste/need. They have some unique varieties of squash too; I'll have to do some research before heading back for more.”

“We picked up a few apples and squash today. I asked the clerk if I could wash an apple to eat right now. She was very nice and told me to pick another one from the bin and showed me the sink. No Charge ! What a nice surprise. We will be back to support this business!”

“They were low on stock but the nice young lady (preteen) was the most amazing person to help me out. She explained the tools they sell for the fruit. I loved her every second she was around me. I bought an apple corer and gave her a large tip.”

“Outstanding peaches! But the best part of this produce stand is the little girl working behind the counter (and could barely see over it!), weighing the fruit, running the cash register, and processing my credit card! Too cute!”

“We love this produce market. The products are fresh and delicious. The family that owns it are friendly and very hard working and know their fruits and veggies. Give them a try!”

“I made pear butter with the pears I got here in October, 2018. Best I've ever had!!”
