Garden Grove Strawberry Festival

“We went to the Strawberry Festival in Garden Grove. Lots of strawberries 🍓, ice cream, shortcakes 🍰, food galore, vendors of all sorts, rides, and of course music. They expanded the rides to the enjoyment of all. It's open till Memorial Day, so go and have fun 👍🏼”

“My family went here as an alternative to the county fair. We had a blast. The kids enjoyed themselves. I didn't miss any aspect of the fair. It was free to get in and parking at a school nearby was $10. No crazy long lines. There was "fair food".”

“This festival has been here since 1958 and founded by the Chamber of Commerce to bring the community together and celebrate the area's then-prolific strawberry fields. Now the festival is in its 66th year, having established itself as a major annual Memorial Day weekend event, I had been here a dozen of time both when I attended GGHS, which is right across from the festival and lived right in the other side of it. Then when I moved back w/ kid l, took him here and ran the 5k run and his afterschool did the float for the parade. It used to be fun and used to have it of strawberry sweet but gradually it became 1 or 2 vendors selling it. The fair is still great but as you get older and kids these days see not quite into the rides much, it abit sad to see the declining plus the cost is rising. It's still great to see it bring the communities near and far together for a fun long memorial weekend...this yr 2026, due to the Hazmat situation, it's very empty here on Saturday. Hopefully it will be better soon.”

“When I was a kid, I used to go to this festival just for their strawberry bread loaf. Coming back this year, I noticed they don’t sell the loaf anymore. I went around asking the festival staff about it, and it seemed like it never even existed! Eventually, I found it—but instead of the whole loaf, they only sell it in slices now. To make it worse, they won't tell anyone where they get the bread. This was a strawberry disaster! :c Now I have no reason to come back to this festival anymore.”
