“We come to Green City Market every year, but this was the first time I actually stopped to try the food. While walking around, I kept smelling something really good and basically followed the scent until I found the Baked Cheese Haus booth. Soon as I saw them scraping all that melted cheese over the sandwiches, I already knew I was getting one. I went with the Jambon Cru. Melted raclette scraped over cured ham on toasted baguette with spring onions, baby gherkins, and Dijon. And wow… this thing was a cheesy overload. So much melted cheese, rich, creamy, and warm. The baguette was toasted with that nice crunch, sturdy enough to hold all of it together. Then the gherkins and Dijon came in and cut through all that richness with a little tang and sharpness, which made every bite better. Messy, cheesy, a little ridiculous honestly. The whole market has such a fun vibe too. Busy, lots of people walking around, fresh produce everywhere, live energy all around. The people at the booth were super friendly too. Now I’m seriously about to go to Wisconsin just to find them again.”

“I absolutely love farmers markets, so when I heard about Green City Market I knew I had to check it out. It’s in such a nice location (located in Lincoln Park), I went on a rainy day and everyone still had a smile! They have so many things to choose from, some of my personal favorites were, The coffee, fresh baked bread, oyster mushrooms, basil plants, apple & cherry turnover/ more pastries, fresh jam and grass fed beef! Lots to choose from and reasonably priced! Also super close to the zoo if you want to make a morning of it!”

“We actually came to the zoo and parked our car next to the parking lot next to the farmers market. I loved this farmers market. So many vendors, selling fruits, veggies. Pumpkin season is here saw much of that. Raw honey, farm eggs and meat available. You want to buy plants or flowers you will find them here. Baked goods as well.”

“Wonderful market. Big variety of vendors. Must be largest in Chicago. An hour of poking around uncovered delicious selection of Augusta, tomatoes, fennel, beets, mushrooms, with flavors and varieties that I don’t find in the local grocery stores. Can’t wait for dinner tonight.”

“Nice farmers market in Lincoln park. One booth had an excellent selection of apples! Pretty good grilled cheese at Gayle’s and picked up some blueberry vinegar and maple syrup.”

“Even though I like the fact that they are mostly healthy without harmful chemicals, I found their prices high and there are no places to sit except for one bench that only sits 4 people. I just realized that the Green City Market that I visited was in the park not inside and maybe it's a different experience when they are indoors. From reading other reviews I noticed that inside locations have more seating options. I do wish that their prices were more reasonable.”
