“We've been searching for a less commercial u-pick experience and that's what Half Crown Hill orchard delivered this past Saturday. Very welcoming and friendly - 99% sure it was the owner(s). They were very patient and friendly to our boys and took the extra time to show our boys how to use the bubble station. Lots of honey options to sample and buy. Some baked good like cider donuts and apple pies. Apple slingshots were a fun addition. Orchard is setup very efficiently and they hand you a map with which rows are active. Its only a short walk too. U-Pick is always more expensive than other farms such as McConnells/Jankowski but they need to account for how much ends up on the ground (or mouth) versus in the bag. Prices were similar to Sorgels minus the competition of 300 people going for that one Jonagold. We will return!”

“I absolutely love this local, family run orchard! They grow familiar favorites but also varieties that are new to me. You are welcome to try a sample of apple you may not be familiar with (which might become your next favorite). I look forward to picking my own apples off the tree, but I also enjoy seeing the families with children enjoying the same experience. The honey is a “must buy” here! I hope this orchard stays the small , accessible joy it has always been for many years to come. Celebrating Autumn with Half Crown Orchard enriches my life.”

“We are on our way back from the Half Crown Hill Orchard and I can't say enough wonderful things about the orchard and the people. They are so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. We are on a fall vacation and wanted to take the kids apple picking for the first time- this was the place to do it! Family owned and run, great choice of apples, and some fun things for the kids. We enjoyed petting the goats and the apple slingshot, but best of all was the honey tasting! Truly we could have stayed all day. God bless you all! 🙏🍎🍏”

“Well worth the drive. What a wonderful experience. The customer service was out of this world. They have such a awsome orchard that you can choose from a variety of different apples. The store is amazing. While there vist the honey guy. Just wow. Get ready to have your taste buds explode. This is the nicest apple orchard we have been to outside of Maine. All we can say is thank you for a wonderful experience. Oh and dont forget about the goats.”

“Went apple picking with my brother and two others today. It was so much fun, and I can't wait to eat my apples! The beehive setup that lets you look in the hive was one of my favorite parts. I also picked up cider, a pastry, and some cider jam and they all look amazing too.”

“Cute and small family owned orchard and apiary. The store was cute but several items were out of stock. I brought my children with me. The owner seemed immediately concerned as we were greeted. He stressed that the children must take care when picking apples not to damage the trees and went over how to pick them safely. We picked 5 quarter peck bags as instructed. The owners seemed on edge as my kids and others from the group ran around the grassy area. They shouted at our children on more than a few occasions about different things when we were already instructing them on the rules and proper behavior in the open space near the picnic tables. There was a portable toilet but no water at the sink where many in our group ended up with soapy hands and no way to rinse off. I would say not very family friendly and definitely not friendly to larger groups with kids. Good orchard for adults or older kids.”
