Hansels Orchard

“For the past 12 years, our students and their families—ages 2.5 to 6—have looked forward to our annual visit to this beautiful, family-run orchard. Filled with Courtland and Macintosh apples, along with a few special varieties, it’s a magical place where learning comes to life. Each year, we explore the wonders of growing apples—from pollination, to the life cycle of an apple tree—and every visit deepens our appreciation. The Hansel family's dedication and care for the orchard are evident in every row of trees and every warm welcome we receive. This field trip is a highlight for our staff, students, and families alike. We’re so grateful to the Hansels for sharing their orchard with us and for helping to create lasting memories and hands-on learning opportunities that our children carry with them year after year. “We love Hansel’s Orchard and Margie who is always there with a warm welcome. Our school visits Hansel’s every fall to pick apples. Each year 15-20 families from the Heartfelt School gather to pick apples and sing our Apple songs. Margie is kind, helpful, and willing to share her knowledge with us all. The orchard itself is a well cared for, thriving and beautiful orchard. Over the years I’ve been to many many apple orchards, and this by far is my favorite. It’s picturesque and perfect for families with young children who can reach the lowest hanging apples.”

“Lovely little orchard with absolutely beautiful trees and delicious apples! The woman that worked there was very kind and informative. She was nice enough to take a family photo for us. The prices were reasonable and you know exactly where they came from. Totally worth travelling off the beaten path for this!”

“We went to another orchard nearby and it was a circus. Couldn’t find parking, lines were super long looking. So we came here instead and were all the better. You can hear birds and bees and people chatting and laughing, the thump of apples dropping onto the ground and into our baskets. 12 stars if I could!”

“Such a cute, family-owned orchard! Yummy variety and I love the little secret honey crisp tree. You pay by the bag here not by the pound and it makes it very easy to pay as soon as you get there and limits lines / waiting. Can’t wait to return!”
