Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We visited for the Fall pumpkin patch this weekend. It's an adorable place! First off, it's free to get in which makes it super accessible for people and ample parking. There is a small petting farm with goats, sheep, a donkey, a pony, baby calves and a sheep and 2 lambs. There were chickens and roosters too. There were plenty of pumpkin varieties to purchase. There is a small gift shop and a couple small food vendors. There are plenty of photo opportunities too. Very kid friendly! There are playgrounds and hay bails kids can climb. You can purchase tickets for a kid tractor ride. You can also purchase tickets for a corn maze. This was one of the smaller pumpkin patches but we loved it! It's not too big or overwhelming. A perfect way to spend a couple hours thus fall. Highly recommend!”

“My family and I had an incredible day at this farm! This place is a paradise for families and kids. The variety of activities is astonishing – we got to feed and interact with the adorable animals, explore the sprawling pumpkin fields, and had a blast navigating the corn maze, which was both challenging and a lot of fun. One of the things that impressed us was the well-organized parking, making our visit hassle-free. The staff at the farm were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They were always ready to provide assistance and share their knowledge about the farm's offerings. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. We left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return. If you're looking for a fantastic day out with the family, this farm is an absolute must-visit!”

“Hill High farm was such a blast. This is by far the best place to visit for fall activities. Me and my family had the absolute best time here!!! The food is great. The little market is super cute. There are hay rides, a corn maze, escape rooms and a super awesome huge live animation hauted house. I cannot forget to mention the cutest, most sweet and most full of personality horse they have here. He is such a funny horse and so loveable. I could have set with him and pet him alday. I had horses when I was growing up and just being able to love on that horse made my whole day. I would go back every day year round just to visit this horse if it was allowed lol, but seriously if you love fall activities check this place out!!!! Enjoy the pictures we took tons while there.”

“A great place to take the kiddos to pick out their favorite pumpkin 🎃! There are so many crazy varieties of pumpkins here, all different colors, shapes, and sizes! The corn maze, barrel ride and hayrides are awesome. Plenty of parking and great Staff. A great place to spend sometime on a lovely fall afternoon with a lot of places for photo opportunities.”

“What a great small farm experience! Kids can see and pet quite a few different farm animals. We were quite lucky to be there when they do the haunted house experience and I can’t tell you how thrilling it was! One of the best haunted houses we’ve been to! Our 11 years old was actually having his eyes covered most of the time but still told us he loved it :)”

“We love this cute farm. Low key with enough stuff to keep the whole family entertained. Animals on display, hayrides, pick your own pumpkin patch, sunflower field, corn maze, haunted house, escape room, food vendors and tons of fun things for the little ones. Great way to spend an afternoon in the fall. 🎃🌻🍂”

“A perfect little family farm. Many cute animals that the kids can get up close with. Was able to buy multiple different pumpkins. Had a barrel train for 3 dollars and a hayride for 8 dollars. Also had multiple areas to take family pictures and eat too. We will be back again.”

“It was fun, my son loved it but almost 3 hours cost me close to $100 for 1 child and 1 adult. Ouch. Would have given 4 stars for the fun factor and the corn maze but WOW it was pricey and you have to pay for every single little thing in there 💰. Would be nice to have a general admission price instead of paying for anything and everything they can think of... just putting it out there.. I feel I'm being overly nice with 3 stars, I won't go back next year if the price doesn't decrease.”
