Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in South Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This is an excellent place for lunch or dinner their food is fantastic.they have great ice cream for dessert or if you just want to stop in and have a treat. They also have a gift shop with all sorts of local ideas great place for Christmas gifts. Across the street they have a produce stand their strawberries and peaches are as fresh as you can get anywhere. So when you're out on a drive or you want something great to eat come to Cooley's strawberry Hill. “A good experience for pumpkin patch, hay ride and kids play. Can get very busy in the afternoon and evenings. Recommend not doing the corn maze and hay ride if you have young kids on the same day but rather on different days. Do the visit on Saturday as the cafe is open. Ice cream shop was open on Sunday and have a lot of flavors to choose from. Limited fresh produce. Boiled Pea nuts are amazing.”
