What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Maine, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maine.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“Joan and Brad’s was wonderful. I assume it was Brad who was the older gentleman working in the shack. He was lovely and kind, and funny telling me and my one year old to be careful on the right side where there was some “good pickings but a jungle and don’t get lost” Affordable. Easy parking. Not to busy. Only charged by the pound. I personally felt compelled to overpay since my one year old decided to eat handfuls (they were that yummy)”

“THIS is where you need to go. We had to search for a new spot for our family tradition since our usual place went to $10 a person even for our 3-year-olds . We tried going North but were there too early and at $4.50 a pound. At last, a friend recommended this place. Giant, ripe, high-bush blueberries with the branches loaded down. $3 a pound! No crowds. Cute pails on ropes for the kids. And, we enjoyed our picnic on a picnic table.”

“Highly recommend! Took my 2 year old here for their first berry picking experience and had a blast! The buckets they give you were a hit with the kiddo and very convenient for weighing and bringing home. The gentleman handing out the buckets was very kind and encouraging to my child, telling them it was fun to eat the berries off the bushes. We'll definitely be back next year.”

“Spectacular! Gorgeous fields with delicious blue berries. Our kids had a great time and filled their stomachs. We came after a rain, but will come back when it's sunny to see the butterflies on the milk weed. We really enjoyed chatting with Brad and Joan. They are absolutely lovely people. Highly recommended.”

“Took some time on our honeymoon to pick some Maine blueberries and I’m so happy we did! Beautiful farm, tons of berries and a lovely gentleman who pointed us in the proper direction, pail in hand. We can’t wait to come back the next time we’re at the cottage!”

“Trust me, a random guy on the internet. I cannot stress this enough, fantastic taste, great people, cute dogs, and an aggressive amount of blueberry bushes to pick from. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Reasonable price, lots of blueberries would come back again next time! Also lots of bees for who allergic to them. Their blueberries taste amazing :) and bring cash!”

“So many blueberries and very reasonably priced!! I loved picking into a bucket like Blueberries for Sal. Highly recommend them..bring cash.”
