In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Indiana, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Absolutely incredible experience for families! We came out for the Strawberry Festival and it was top-tier from start to finish. The strawberry patches are well-maintained and perfect for little ones to pick, the farm tractor photo-ops are adorable. The absolute highlight for our toddler was the Fun Farm area—especially the little play town stores where he could pretend to run the shops! It kept him completely entertained and engaged. Clean, organized, delicious berries, and infinite joy for the kids. We will definitely be making this a regular family tradition! Highly recommend. Update: Back for U-Pick Blueberries We returned on a Monday during a non-fest week for the u-pick blueberries, and it was such a different (amazing) vibe — so much less crowded without a festival going on. The bushes were absolutely overflowing with berries! We also learned there are 4 different varieties of blueberries grown on the farm, which we had no idea about. Our son had a blast snacking as much as he was picking. It took us about 2 hours to fill a 2-pint container, so plan accordingly if you’re on a schedule! Of course, we had to stop at Marilyn’s Bakery on the way out for blueberry donuts — absolutely delicious, don’t skip it. We’ll definitely be making this a regular family tradition — highly recommend, whether you come for a festival or just a quiet u-pick day!”

“We had a great time strawberry picking at Johnson's Farm Produce! We came home with tons of strawberries, and they are incredibly sweet and delicious. The kids loved picking their own berries, and it was a fun family activity. We also spent time in the fun area, and the kids had an absolute blast. There was plenty for them to do, and it really added to the experience. The only thing I wouldn't do again is the train ride. We bought extra tickets for it, and honestly, it sounded like it was about to fall apart. It was super loud, very bouncy, and not something we'd spend the extra money on again. The kids still enjoyed it, but the adults were holding on for dear life. 😂 Overall, we had a wonderful day, brought home lots of amazing strawberries, and made some great family memories. We'd definitely come back for the strawberry picking and the fun area!”

“Wow!! What a beautiful time we spend at Johnson’s Farm this past weekend with our family. This place is for kids and adults filled with hours of fun. $15 a person for general admission and $25 a person for all access. Don’t worry $15 a person will give you loads of fun. This was our first time here we liked the place so much we will return next week. They also rent for parties and field trips. Come have a great time here you will not regret it.”

“Had such a great time! I was surprised at how many activities they had for kids, they even had a 3 and under play area along with obstacle courses and big kid play grounds. Such a fun place to visit! Can’t wait to keep bringing my daughter back every summer!”

“Nice family fun activities. I just think they should still have an option on the weekend to just do U-pick without paying the festival price. We were only able to go on the weekend for strawberry picking and my daughter was to old to do the activities that are included for the weekend fest price.”

“Took my kids the other day and enjoyed it overall. Lots of fun but unfortunately they only have porta potties. The u pick strawberries was a bust and hard to even find good ones. The blueberries u pick might be a better option.”

“Family enjoy are strawberry and blueberry picking. Family area was a blast will come again”

“I came here last Friday with my 5 year old daughter to get strawberries. They were sold out. Which is totally fine I get that they are busy and it’s strawberry season. I simply asked the first employee I saw if they were sold out, and if they had watermelons.. she was so rude to me. She literally rolled her eyes at me and said “not til after this time” and then walked away. I was totally shocked and embarrassed that she would speak to me like that for asking a simple question. Especially with my child there. I was so upset about the situation I had to call just to express what had happened. The woman over the phone told me the employee I spoke to was the manager. That’s really disappointing. I wasn’t calling for special treatment or to be difficult. Just really disappointed that what should have been simple respectful interaction made me feel so awful.. I also left my number to get a call back from someone and I never did. Which is why I’m leaving this review. 😕”
