What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Indiana, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Quality produce at a reasonable cost. I took a few things and left the guy twenty bucks well worth it (we ate most of the cherry tomatoes on the way home.)”

“Rosey's has the best fruit and vegetables!!! Gavin picked out his own cucumber and it must have been a good one because he couldn't wait to take a bite!”

“We picked near the end of the season so berries not too plentiful but what we found were sweeet and juicy. A bit weedy so had to hunt more for the berries. Earlier in the season I'm sure picking was easy. Thanks to Roseys for offering fresh berries in our area!”

“This is a great place to pick or just pick up berries. We've been going several years now and find them very easy to deal with and the berries ripe and juicy.”

“We picked there 1 1/2 weeks ago and it was great. But today we were in a field overgrown with weeds and thistle and berries were mostly overripe. Very difficult to pick nice berries today.”

“The only good things I can say is that the berries are organic and prices were decent compared to other farms. However, the berries were terrible--they were extremely small and tasteless. Since they are organic, there are no weed killers sprayed but the plants are overgrown with grass and weeds so they were hard to find. To their credit, this year (2020) was a bad year from strawberries with a cold and dry (at least in this area) spring. Since I make a lot of jam, I had to go to Garwood Farms to get enough berries (but they were almost twice as expensive). If you are a family just looking for a place for you and the kids to have a day trip and to pick, this would be nice, but if you are in need of larger quantities, you will need to look elsewhere. Hopefully next year will be better.”

“Drove 11/2 hrs and was told by one person that pictured bucket goes for $13 when full and some above edges. At checkout, before I had the chance to empty smaller containers into the bucket another person weighted then separately and charged us $23. Now...I just paid the guy $23 an hour job! Will not return.”
