Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“First time at Jollay Orchards (We picked peaches) Customer service was amazing. We meet the owner and his 3 kids They all where VERY nice and polite. We told the owner to be proud of his kids because even though they are very young. They are very good with the customers. Thank you for the good service!!!”

“This farm is family owned and they couldn't be any nicer! I've come here since I was in kindergarten and come back every time we are in town. Huge variety of wonderful fruit! Go! Support our farmers! Its a beautiful piece of property.”

“I did Blueberry U-Pick near the end of June. They just started the blueberry U Pick, weighted 2.25/lb. They still have blueberries left. Also had cherry U Pick at that time, probably gone now. Fun hayride to blueberry field.”

“Was a blast. Apples are delicious hayrides u pick. Plus haunted house.. fresh doughnuts homemade canned goods, pumpkins of all sizes fun area for kids. Homemade apple pie. Different from when I was younger but amazing”

“Couldn’t be better!!!! Loved this place so much. Feels very homegrown and welcoming. Everyone was super friendly and great vibes. Great deal for DELICIOUS apples!!! Will be back.”

“I was in the area for a weekend getaway. I saw online that Jollay Orchards had apple cider tasting in Grandpa's Cider mill. When we arrived the parking was in the grass. Since it had been raining for a few days it was really muddy and we almost got stuck while trying to leave. Their site is a bit confusing to me. They call the fall season a "Fall Festival" but it's not a festival at all. There's hardly anything to do. And if you want to do anything besides visit the market you have to pay $10 per person for a wristband. There were a lot of cute photo opportunities in the Free section. The market was incredible So much to choose from. Apples of course, preserves, jams, jellies, pasta sauces, marinades, salad dressings salsas, pickled veggies, honey, butters, and more. The prices were high but I expect that from an orchard. We also got hot apple cider and half a dozen donuts at checkout. Those donuts were seriously the best ones I've had in my entire life. I'm going to have dreams about those. 😂 I asked the cashier if a wristband was needed to visit Grandpa's Cider Mill to do the taste testing. She told me they don't do that anymore. It took up too much room so now it's just used for apple pressing. That was disappointing since that's why we came. I would have done 3 stars but the market was great and the donuts are amazing.”

“This orchard has delicious apples and pumpkins. There are so many fun things for your kids to do, from hay rides to a haunted house. Make sure to stop at the store for some cider and other yummy apple products!”

“Kind of pricey when paying $12 each for a wristband in addition to the bag price for apples. We had pretty limited selection for apples going this time of year. The caramel apple I had was delicious.”
