“My husband, daughter and myself went on the farm to chocolate tour and had the best time. Lacy was our guide and she did a fantastic job at answering questions and keeping everyone engaged. The chocolate process is quite interesting and Lavaloha did a great job explaining every step…and we all were able to sample all types of yummy chocolate. At the end we were all guided to the gift shop, and while a little pricey, it’s absolutely worth it! We couldn’t not get the sample pack and sweatshirts. This was in the top activities we did on our vacation to the Big Island!”

“Took the family on a tour of the chocolate farm. I accidentally booked for a later week, but the team was kind enough to allow us to book a later tour the day we arrived that had some space. It feels like a ways away from town, but it's really only 15 minutes away. The kids and adults enjoyed trying cacao fruit right from pod. Our kids (elementary school aged) enjoyed sampling the chocolate and couldn't believe an hour flew by. They came back teaching relatives about what they learned about the chocolate making process.”

“Really enjoyed this tour! I came with my husband, teenage son, and daughter with a toddler and baby. This one hour tour was the perfect length of time for the wide range of ages in our group to keep everyone’s interest. My kids really loved seeing the farm where chocolate comes from, and it was so interesting learning the process of how the chocolate tree turns into a treat. The chocolate tasting was so fun and delicious! We loved seeing the beautiful farm and spending our last day on the island on this tour.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, the farm was beautiful and the duck elusive! Loved to hear the information around the information on how they are preserving the land and environment. We also got the opportunity to try a raw cocoa bean and it was delicious, but slimy! Don't let that deter you from trying it! Our favorite chocolate was the orange chocolate and we took home a few bars. Get yourself a spot on a tour! Tip your guide.”

“This was a very enjoyable experience. Our guide Courtney was very knowledgeable and fun! She did a great job showing us the farm, sharing her knowledge of cacao, showing the process, and helping us enjoy the chocolate. The shop with all it's products is great. Highly recommend taking the time to do this if you like chocolate at all!”

“The best chocolate farm tour we have taken. The staff are do friendly and make you feel right at home. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, interesting and taught us so much about chocolate. They also have the best chocolate products I have ever tasted and I have tried chocolate on multiple other farms in Hawaii. I highly this tour.”

“I loved seeing this farm in action! Courtney gave a fun tour, balanced with humor and information; her style fit our group from 5 years on up. Jess was super cool to speak with, too, giving me tips about the island. Come support Lavaloha!”

“Short tour, they show you the farm, how they grow cacaos, how they dry the beans and do a small tasting. I was hoping we’d see the actual chocolate making too, even through windows. Our guide was fun but a bit brash. We loved their dark and white chocolates. This is a good tour if you’re curious about the farming aspect and love chocolate. If not, I’d probably skip. But I’d still recommend trying and buying their chocolate locally!”
