Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“Great place to bring the family for a day of fun. We really enjoyed the Strawberry festival! You can disregard the reviews by the women who are obviously liberals. They have not yet learned that having traditional values and disagreeing with them does not equal hate no matter how many times they say it. What does equal hate is leaving bad reviews on businesses because they have different views than you do. We bring our kids at least twice a year and its well worth going to.”

“My family and I make it a tradition to go every Fall to Liberty Ridge Farm. There is so much to do and see! There's rabbits, ponies, goats, donkeys, chickens and baby pigs that race. They added a train this year for an add on price. My family did paint balling and mining too. There's so much more to experience, I just don't have enough space to write it all. On the way out, we got pumpkins for carving and fresh apple cider donuts which are to die for!”

“Great place to spend SEVERAL hours with family. So much to do for the kids. They had music, food was great, fields of sunflowers and other colorful flowers. You can cut your own. It was super hot the day I went, or I would have stayed longer. Well worth the price. Take the trolly down to the sunflower field, it makes its rounds every twenty minutes or so. Lots of laughter. Food reasonably priced. Lemonade was awesome! Plenty of great photo ops, too.”

“My kids loved doing activities there. Even grown-ups can play the games. Tractor ride was fun. Kids loved it. There can be 2 food outlets open during the festival season so that the crowd can be well managed. We went to the Strawberry Festival and the food ordering and pickup took about 2 hours. Being vegetarian, we had only french fries as an option. Kids had a lot of fun.”

“My family goes every year and its more than worth the price of admission. Plan to be there all day! We go open to close usually and are NEVER bored. My kids have been going since they were about 18mo. Old and now a preteen and still having just as much fun every single year!”

“Liberty Ridge Farm is one of the most kid-friendly places you'll find in the Capital Region. There is always something going on, and if you plan on visiting more than once or twice a year, the season pass is absolutely worth it. Between the Strawberry Festival, Blueberry Festival, Sunflower Festival, and the massive Fall Festival, there's no shortage of things to do. The Fall Festival alone feels like a month-long celebration with enough attractions to keep kids entertained for hours. The farm features dozens of family activities and seasonal events throughout the year. The food is surprisingly good for an attraction like this. Whether you're grabbing lunch, snacks, or treats while spending the day there, the quality is consistently better than expected. My biggest complaint is the food service on busy weekends. The wait times can be extremely long—sometimes approaching an hour from the time you place your order until you receive your food. With live music playing, it can also be nearly impossible to hear your name being called when your order is ready. The combination of long waits and difficulty hearing pickup announcements can be frustrating, especially when you have hungry kids with you. Overall, I highly recommend Liberty Ridge Farm for families. The festivals, attractions, and overall experience make it a place we return to year after year. If they can improve and streamline the food ordering and pickup process, it would easily be a five-star experience.”

“So... Did the "Blueberry Fest" today. Have to admit at $20 a person for 3 adults and 3 toddlers i was not impressed. The website is massively misleading and neglects to tell you that you can just pick berries at $4.50 lb... Instead implies you need to purchase the $20 ticket regardless of age. Regarding the actual farm. $20 for a 3 year old to play at a glorified park/playground is excessive. Then, $3 for 1 bottle of Saratoga 16oz is a bit excessive as well. You can literally go to a grocery store and buy a case for just $7... Yeah. Not worth the cost.... Your a farm, not a theme park. Make it the price worth it. The kids enjoyed the random goats walking around. Truly they loved the goats. Honestly. It is a fun adventure they had fun. But not worth $130....”

“Went for the Easter celebration. Family of 4 was 90$. You still need to pay for using additional attractions such as train rides, pony ride, facepainting. Overall, it was more expensive than I would have liked to pay. The jungle gyms and slides kept my kids entertained. Some of the free attractions were in need of repair, ie strength testers, rocking horses.”
