Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Ohio.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Payment notes on file: Mastercard. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“MacQueen Orchards is a very special place to my family. Every holiday involved a rhubarb, fruit of the forest pie, or a Dutch apple pie. If you need an assortment of homemade cake donuts with blueberry or apple caramel frosting, you need not look further. There is a beautiful little Christmas store inside, and always check to see if they’re signature apple cider is in the refrigerator at the back of the store. They have a beautiful home with a store to check out also in the front of the property. One year, I had a chance to pick apples from the fruit trees, which is available every season. They have an apple butter festival every fall. MacQueen is a treasure.”

“Hands down, one of my Ohio must visits. Unfortunately, I fear I may not be back as I came here while visiting my grandmother passed away. The fall and winter time at the apple orchard is the best, there is nothing like hot apple cider and warm apple fritters on a cold day. The smell of hot apples carries through the cold air, tempting your nose and stomach. I'll miss the warmth on the cold days. May this apple orchard be ever successful, thank you for being a memorable part of my life.”

“MacQueens was a good time. We love Orchards and attend them frequently. I visited with my family, everyone from 75 year grandmother to my 7 year old son had a blast. They had pumpkins, 🍎, and plenty of food. There was even small rides for children, plus activities to keep them busy. Would definitely recommend❗️🥰🍎”

“This is a wonderful, local business. The apple picking was lots of fun. The experience is memorable. The donuts tasted fantastic. The apple fritter was really good. Parking was not bad. Be prepared to walk to find good apples, everything up close was picked over. My children loved the experience.”

“I'm Latina and I visited this place. I walked among the pumpkins, apples, and corn. It was very entertaining and healthy. I bought donuts, apple pie, and cider juice. Everything is natural and fresh. One of my favorite places in Ohio.”

“MacQueens is the best! Family fun every time. Wish someone would have told me 20 years ago you can just stop in any time for doughnuts and pie any time of the year and not just in the fall lol.”

“I hadn’t been here in some time as it’s not very close to home but we decided to change it up for our annual apple picking family tradition. I’m glad we came earlier in the season because there was plenty of fruit to pick from! Why I’m giving this place 3 stars: - There was a hole in the wagon wheel, in my opinion, someone should be keeping up with small maintenance things like that since the season is about to be in full swing. - The older ladies who were working outside made me uncomfortable as I was walking passed an empty booth and were not very friendly about the fact that I didn’t know about a blue ticket I was supposed to have (my dad was the one who paid to get the apples and was walking in behind me). I would have been understanding but they were just judgmental and condescending about it. If it’s such a big deal someone should be at that booth ready to check tickets if they know people are driving up…. -Donuts were nothing special but they do have A LOT of yummy looking choices -Really good selection of apples but horrible signage. There is a map but you have to take a picture or study it really well or you’ll have no idea what you’re picking. -If you have a hard time walking, this is probably not the place for you. Overall, there was a super sweet girl working the bakery. There’s a corn maze that looks fun and plenty of pumpkins to choose from so it’s not my favorite place but I might be back for the maze.”
